Haven't heard but I'd bet they keep it on St Patrick's Day morning. That appears to be by design (my theory to minimize the TBOX crowd from coming)

Anyone have any further details on what/when/how Hampton Inn is going to deal with the priority booking slips we filled out last year?

The tbox crowd isn't spending 240 dollars to go to a festival in Munster, Indiana.

Then again, having it on St. Patties Day may be the only way to get enough drunk TBOX'ers to purchase tickets at that price...

Truthfully, I can't imagine they're going to be able to honor them. If they were to tell anyone who has a room for that date that they're being moved I'm almost positive Hilton/Courtyard would step in and squash it.

It's one of those things where the hotel's going to get burned by trying to go the extra mile for their repeat customers. Sucks, but.... I'd probably find a hotel if you're looking to stay for DLD

It'll be the same. That wasn't for their 20th anniversary. It was to make everything all inclusive since they can age enough beer now.

Unfortunately the mid-May dates are creating some issues that are going to see a remarkable increase in ticket prices trying to keep DLD consistent with years past. Rain making machines aren't cheap.

I wouldn't be shocked to see them tweak the ticket prices again. Frankly, wouldn't mind not pre-paying for food/drink tickets. I don't think they made either line go faster.

Any recollection of how far ahead of time they announce the date/time of ticket sales? you guys think there is any chance of a lottery in the future? Like TG for KBBS/MD?

It's usually a week or two advance notice on when tickets go on sale. Last year the tickets went on sale in the middle of March (that's when the event was held on the last Saturday in April, but with it being moved to mid May this year it's a bit more uncertain).

As for making it a lottery like KBBS/Assassin... I doubt it. They've never done it that way in the past. Tickets have been first come, first serve type of thing. If you can get group A, you will get the best choices (Marshamallow Handjee, French Vanilla Militia), but then again many are trying for that group so it's relatively tough to get. There are 12.5k attendees (at least last year) so if you just want to go and don't care too much about the variant, you should be able score tickets with small amount of luck and a quick click finger (tickets will still sell out very fast after they are available). But if you want group A or group B, that's going to be a bit more tough.

Thanks for the advice! Sorry to fill the forum with my newbie questions - if he happy without any variants!

I wasn't able to get any food while I was there... the lines were way too crazy.

Right, in fact, the inclusion of food in the vouchers actually made those lines worse, as everyone wanted "to get their money's worth." It was the only thing that got people out from keeping dry-ish and warm under the tents, so the lines were terrible.

We ended up leaving with 8 tickets and gave them to someone that was dropping off their bottles and going back to the festival.
