Put me in the camp that this is the best beer Founders makes. I had a case last year, and then traded for 12 more about 3 months ago. This is awesome, love it fresh in it's hot and spicy youth and I love it aged.

Further to that, beer neophytes have tried Backwoods Bastard (at my insistence) and loved it. This beer could convert the masses.

Buy it. Buy more of it. Then, get more. Drink it. Be happy.

Indeed. The power of Christ compels it. I have a couple of friends who are huge bourbon fans, but not so much into beer, who absolutely love this brew.

Is it hard to get (like KBS) or will I have no problem finding it? I'm in the DC area, fwiw. Thanks!

Although limited it is usually available for about a week after release in most decent shops in NoVA and DC.

It can be hard to get, but it's nothing like the near-impossibility of KBS.

Can somebody lock this thread up? I didn't have a problem finding it last year, and would like for that to continue....

That beer is soooo amazing! Actually I usually buy a 4 pack and split each bottle; with
every sip I think (DAMN, this is mighty fine brew)!

I've never tried it but I'm really hoping it'll be available in Rhode Island.

I was fortunate enough to land a 4-pack of this last year. It is a delicious beer. Bourbon-barrel aging is a perfect flavor enhancement for malty beers like Scottish Ales, Wee Heavies, and Brown Ales. Brewers don't offer enough of these in my opinion.

I'm not sure how difficult it's going to be to get this year, but I have a back-up plan ready: 1 bomber of Hoppin Frog Barrel-Aged Outta Kilter and 4 bombers of Quaff Bros Brown Chicken Brown Cow.

This is part of the thing I hate about being a Chicago beer geek. You get plenty of opportunities to try rare stuff, yet there's allows a sea of other people to fight it out with. Yea, I got to try Backwoods at Quenchers, but it would be nice to get a bottle or two for home enjoyment as well.

Yea, yea, first world beer geek problems, so sue me.

I had to like this, but we both know it wont happen. :/
Just like bcbs making it here. Well, it MIGHT, but I'm not willing to pay what the store that shall not be mentioned would charge.

I would assume same as normal, I haven't heard or read about anything otherwise.
