OG Light was amazing, but the last batch I had at the Ferm was not good. I think they know this as well, by subtly dropping in the description that this is apparently the OG recipe for this can run.

Can these be used on cans? I have several too.

I've read a couple previous threads and pretty sure I have my answer, but I just wanted to confirm with people in Philly who regularly go. If I'm visiting a buddy one weekend from Friday-Sunday, I'm pretty much left with trying things on draft correct? No can releases on the weekends?

Correct, unless they release a lager or another beer that less people want. Those can last past the release day. There may also be bottles of saison(s) available as well.

Don't sleep on their bottled options if you like saisons/wild ales. They will probably have Ourison and Shambolic available, and Ourison is the same as SaisonHands (except that its bottle-conditioned) so you'll be able to try it on draft.

Awesome, thanks guys! I love saisons, so I'll definitely keep a look out for bottles.

You can only use gift cards in the bar area, not for can releases. The square reader things don't process them.

I did it, they have to send someone back to the actual bar to do it tho. You and the dude who does it will both be annoyed.

The 400 people behind in line will also be annoyed

Anyone seen the beginnings of the line yet? Trying to decide if this is more of a milkshake release line (i.e. no thanks), or a Key Lime line (might be worth going).

Were the people in line for that beer release dressed like they are from Key West!?!

    Cheers!

so what is the protocol with chairs? I'm sick and this is the only release I'll be able to get to for a while, so I figured if you can't beat them - might as well join them.

I doubt standing in the cold for 2 hours or so would help me any, so do I just drop off my chair, go inside to the Ferm, and then return to line no questions asked?

    This is embarrassing.

Just dropped off my chair it's to the end of the parking lot already. Not a single person in a chair.

If everyone is dropping chairs and heading into the Ferm, it seems like Tired Hands could save everyone some trouble and just hand out tickets at the bar. It wouldn't stop people from lining up before they open, but it'd at least keep downtown Ardmore free of chairs.

There were way more chairs than people in the ferm. Staying in the ferm all day is not a requirement to drop a chair

My thinking was that instead of dropping a chair that no one is going to sit in, people could just go into the Ferm, get a ticket that ensures an allotment, and come back for the release. If anyone doesn't max out, the remaining cans go behind the bar as usual.

That said, the chairs accomplish the same thing without the staff having to do anything. It's just a waste of space.

Just got here. chair line is just now creeping down the cricket lot. Ferm is pretty empty though.

I wish that they limited all releases to a single 4 pack per person per beer. That would eliminate the lines, hassels, pretrades, etc and would allow more people to purchase their beers to enjoy.
