I should be able to make that, but it's not a guarantee. I know after that weekend I can definitely be free.

As a newbie to the DMV area, and a fan of the growing beer scene here (having recently moved from and lived in san diego & san fran), I'm def keepin my eye on this thread. Thanks for gettin things rolling & set up! i can't make it to tonite's, but tonite's bottle share sounds ridiculous!, and the possible SnB one on oct14 could get pretty epic, too! ...errr...I'm just gettin into a lot of the awesome breweries that don't get distributed out to the west coast, and the whole cellaring of some good stuff, ..and so would these bottle shares be a proper place/event for some IP bottle trades, too, though, aside from all the bottle sharing/tasting? (ie- i'm sorta new to bottle trading, and gotta earn some trading stripes, but wouldn't want to knock any etiquette either, so just checking; advice?).

Nevertheless, don't wanna jack this thread, great to see this DMV bottle sharing community comin together! I'm so down!

As another transplant from SD you are not alone! I will not me making it to tonights either :/. IP trades should be no problem at a share like this.

    Hey all,

The conversation that I created inviting people to the bottle share is full. So I'm going to post all of the information here for any others who might like to attend but can't get in on the message I started

The date has been set for Sunday, October 14 at 4:30 p.m. at Smoke and Barrel in NW DC.

The address is 2471 18th St. NW. For those taking the metro, it is basically equidistant between Woodley Park, Dupont Circle, and U St.

We will be meeting on the basement level, otherwise known as bottom of the barrel.

There is no rental fee involved. However, I do ask, in respect to the company, that everyone order something. This could be a draft beer, a bourbon, a cellared bottle, or dinner/a snack. It can be a minimal contribution, I just want to make sure this can be done and condoned by Smoke and Barrel on a regular basis. All glassware and clean up will be provided by Smoke and Barrel.

For our first group tasting, I am advising that no one bring super white wales. Until we get to know the vibe of the group, I don't want anyone to be upset that they brought a Midnight Sun M and a first batch Blabaer while someone else brought an Old Rasputin and a Double Jack. Feel free to bring seasonal/limited release beers, but let's all leave our white wales for future tastings.

Tasting number one will be open forum. Any style is welcome.

I would encourage all participants to bring either 2 bombers or 4 twelve ounce bottles.

I am going to limit this first tasting to 30 participants, if we reach that number. Please rsvp through this message. If you have friends who are interested in attending, please have them message me through Beer Advocate or at [email protected]. Please rsvp through beeradvocate if you plan to attend and also let me know what bottles you plan to bring, so we can try to avoid duplicates as much as possible.

Personally, I will be providing a Schlafly Bourbon Barrel Quad and a Williamsburg Alewerks Bourbon Barrel Porter.

Love the Kovacs pic. That poor QB from Western never recovered from that. So what to do on a bye weekend? As much as I loathe Groucho Mark, I wouldn't mind seeing State wipe that smirk off of Urb's face. Cheers!

Posted this in a new thread but I thought I'd re-post it here as it might be more relevant:

Between some friends and I we have Bourbon County 09-12 + Bramble. We had Coffee but needless to say we busted it open awhile ago. There is no set date for this and will be held at my place in Falls Church/Arlington. If you have an earlier vintage or a variant and would be willing to contribute to be part of the tasting let me know!
