Monkish Brewing (January 2017)

If literally the only reason you go to a brewery/bar is to drink the alcohol - as opposed to meeting and hanging out with friends over a beer, for example - you may want to talk to someone about your drinking habits.

Personally, I like to socialize and interact with my friends over a beer or two instead of drinking multiple pints with the intent of getting obliterated (it's a young man's game), but to each their own.

 

If only I had the power you think I do...

People don't share the same opinion as you. All of Europe is pretty chill with casual adult consumption of alcohol in front of children because they don't have the same puritanical societal relationship with alcohol (or sex) that America does. This does not make them irrational.

We know you have an opinion... others do too.

 

This discussion reminds me of Chenman or whatever that dude's name was that eventually got banned. Mostly off topic conjecture that is not productive. Let's remember to utilize the ignore feature BA provides all of us.

 

Not familiar with that guy but taking it as a warning. I didn't bring up the kids and was responding with a differing rationale, but in doing so I also participated in furthering the pointless banter.

I would bring my nieces and nephews if I could get an extra allotment for each one. Instead of mules they would my own little ponies.

Sports games are way worse then craft breweries f-bombs, drunks, sf giant fans, angel fans, USC fans an so on.

 

I'll be there on Friday with the wife and 2 month old (as long as there's no waiting in line) to have a couple of beers if anyone would like to come and pass judgment on my parenting directly. @SP23, @Black_Rider, @homer281, etc. I promise it will be very apparent exactly how much my daughter is affected by hanging out for an hour in the brewery.

Every Monkish thread always contains the same things, kids at the brewery/in line, selling cans online, Monkish needing more space. Its always an endless circle on a Monks (@dcgunman ) thread.

The earlier in the month we get these topics out of the way the better.

 

I can only assume this was tongue in cheek. Can't recall the last SF giants fan that beat an opposing teams' fan to near death.

 

I don't think anyone here, at least not me, was opposed to children being present at the brewery during a session. It's always been about the lines. The lines because of stupid shit that's taken place in the past along with the increased presence of resellers/profiteers. If you intermix a group of people whose sole interest is profit (from what people say, they can make a hefty sum selling these cans in the grey market) with folks who may or may not be intoxicated but are also interested in acquiring this product, there's bound to be friction. Someone already documented an altercation (no conjecture there) but that post got deleted because of its controversial nature. Let me tell you if you think that this is all theoretical, you've got some interesting things awaiting you in life.

RE: sports games. Agreed, tons of stupid shit there too. I avoid at all costs.

Doesn't matter if it's the beginning of the month. The topics go in circles with every release. Can't wait to see how many babies and kids are at the next can release so we can skip a majority of this thread.
