Anyone have a clue as to what merch will be available at the Kickoff? Some killer Society member shirts perhaps?

Patrick, is White Oak also more of a hiatus? Or a true cancelation?

Also, how will "The Abbey" compare with "Abbaye du Chene"?

Lastly, can you confirm or deny a "Better Call Saule" variant for the anniversary ale?

    Thanks!

Yeah I think Joel mentioned some work shirts, and also some retro merch (though not specifically what). I'd personally love one of those glower/bottle bags they did from a few years ago. Mine has been heavily used and I would love to get a newer one. Would be cool if they had tins too like they did with the Black Tuesday party as well. Have that put up in my office at work and it's a great conversation starter.

I don't fully understand the want/need for a dickies workshirt, but I would too like a growler bag to keep things cool and a tin, though I wouldn't be able to put that up at MY work since I work at a car dealer and they look down on the whole "alcohol at work" thing... Thanks Obama! haha XD

Anyone have the travel bag from last year? I'm kind of hopeful that that'll pop up again, but that's really just wishful thinking. It seemed like a quality bag that I'd definitely use when traveling. ::fingers crossed::

So White Chocolate and Melange 3 will both be distributed this year. I see they are lowering the WC abv to 13.8 down from 16.6 so it can be distributed to more states. Hope that's not happening to M3 too.

Edit- just thought about it, it would be impossible to do that to M3 considering the beers that make up that blend haha.

Anyone know (@BruerJoel ?) - if I e-mail, will the society team be able to tell me shipping info? I usually need to work from home whenever delivery is scheduled so I can sign for (I assume it's still GSO 21+?) and receive the package.

Use mine all the time. It was my carry on for my trip to Florida and my main bag when I drove up to Tahoe for a week

Man I hope they bottle, or at least make Sans Pagai with Vanilla again. That was amazing.

I use mine a bunch too and I love it. The bag is really big and spacious. They did a good job with it for sure and I don't regret buying one at all.

Same here. Wife and I (and the dog) used that and a small roller bag to pack for a full week across the country with my parents for Christmas. Ample room inside and fits no prob in most overhead compartments.

I don't understand the love for White Oak

White Oak Sap is ok and a great component beer but I never cared for regular White Oak

I think it's the subtly that I like. It doesn't hit you over the head, but it's not boring either. You don't see a ton of lighter bodied strong beers relative to imperial stouts and such - especially for those of us that don't do sours. It's unique without being weird.

That's cool, to each his own, but those who know, know. All that toffee caramelly goodness underneath.... like ernh said, " unique without being weird". My go to "regular" beer.

So does retire mean for the year? Or forever?

White Oak is more of a true cancellation. There may be a similar beer in the future (currently not in the works), but the name will need to change due to a trademark issue with another White Oak. I personally liked the beer a lot for its drinkability and interesting barrel character, but I think we'll need to take a break from releasing a similar beer for a bit.

"The Order" is a pretty similar beer to "Abbaye du Chene" but "The Order" has a slightly lower ABV and has a slightly richer flavor to it.

I haven't heard about a "Better Call Saule" variant but I like it!

    Cheers,
    Patrick
