I can only imagine the bitching on the Instagram comments if they did that. I'm all for it.

Is this the first canning of The Light . . . ? I love that beer but need it to last until about 8 to have a shot at it. This doesn't seem like a release that would be super crazy.

Their limited cold storage makes it a pain in the ass for them to have leftovers after a can release. I would also like to see them limit these to make it easier to score a 4, but the reality for them is they have to sell out or come damn close every time they have a release. My hope is the new space next to the Brew Cafe will involve ample fridge space, to accommodate larger and more frequent can releases.

They have to dedicate a staff member to policing the chair line, to make sure they don't impede the sidewalk too much and that people don't monkey with other people's chairs. Your way would be far less obnoxious, and require about the same amount of staff time/effort.

I'm still waiting for someone to pull some drive-by mischief on the lines of empty chairs. You know, shaving cream, spraypaint, eggs, stinkbombs, that sort of thing.

It would get more people to go eat and drink inside too. Me being one of them. I'd gladly stop by on a Wed/Thurs night if I knew it was easy to grab a 4pk or two.

They could do the reverse limits. 1-2 4pk of each until 8-9pm; then it's unlimited. They would sell out the same day.

Yeah but like the wristband fiasco they can't know if people are getting full allotments. Then people leave. Then there's beer left. Then bitching ensues.

It's the first canning, yes. I'm guessing slightly longer line than Mago, which was quite long.

But simply handing out tickets does not have the hype/appearance that a line of chairs bring.

I suspect that PT Barnum would applaud the business tactics of Jean here.

    Cheers!

Lets all hope the beer is actually drinkable and not like on of the many recent disappointments/wastes of money put out by TH lately

Answer: No multiple-hour line wait is worth it.

Or make it longer, as the dedicated will just get their first four-pack, walk to the back of the line, and get back in it for more.

Would you mind sharing more details here?

I am not a line person so my experience with the batches that are canned are limited. The vast majority of the Tired Hands beers I drink are draft beers. I have had a few disappointments here with the most egregious (for me) were the batches that had perceptible diacetyl (buttery flavor).

    Cheers!

No offense to anyone. I think they're pretty good with allotments. Fairly low 2-3 4pks usually with a case thrown out occasionally to hook up the people who can't attend every week.

My only gripe with chairs would be people who don't stick around (at least in town or the ferm) and people who have one chair represent multiple people (at least those that weren't there when the chair was placed)

. I agree. We're inside the Ferm right now spending plenty so I don't feel bad about dropping a chair and escaping the cold

Perfect for me, I rarely get more than a 4-pack of each beer there. The allotments are usually pretty good though, like the other week they had 1 pack limit on the donut beer and it lasted for a long time. It's just the occasional release where the limit is 4 4-packs or a case and everything sells out within an hour.

I have most of a problem with the people that go drink for 5 hours and get in a car and on the road with me. The last few releases some of the people around me near the front of the line were pretty noticeably hammered and I saw a few of them get behind the wheel.

Line is way shorter than expected. Maybe the threat of snow kept people away? Definitely not milkshake length.

I thought it would be worse when I got here at 2. But not many showed up after. It is damn cold.
