So you would like to see them lose the lawsuit... makes perfect sense.

Hmm. For someone who has not even lived there for a decade. Your faux knowledge about stuff and a brewery that has been around for 31 years, and served as an example for nearly every brewery in Minnesota for how to do things the right way is quite amusing. Shall I get you a DIPA for your superior knowledge?

If it weren't for your post history, I'd assume you were trolling here. Instead you are making yourself look stupid. Much of their beer ranges from good to excellent for an unbelievably accessible price point. Whalez bro? Top 250? BA ERMAHGERD 19.12% vanilla hazelnut stout? No. But many excellent beers true to style and clean.

What ever happened to respecting your elders like Summit, Schells or even Leinie? When Bud, Miller, and Coors were creating problems for family owned small breweries they developed a bond like no other. To this day all of them still meet up on occasion to talk about the industry and how it's evolved.

Sucks that you had to 'end' that hilariously ignorant comment.

Summits production, operations, quality control, business model, logistics, marketing, etc. etc. etc. are beyond reproach. Their beer ain't bad either.

    Shit. You ended the conversation...

Even if u don't like their beer, why are u in favor of the employees? That is, if what's stated is factual.

Why side with the brewery at this point? I don’t see what they individuals did wrong here. First, does summit have a contract that was drawn up saying I Timmy and Jeffery hereby agree to sell trade secrets to surly for x amount of money? Is this a he said she said stick it to a former employee law suit? Did the former employees have a contract that said they could not use information they learned while working at Summit for the entirety of their careers (or a non compete clause?)? I guarantee many people jump from job to job and use their experience to better their new employer. Until I see hard evidence that these two guys sold secrets to surly just to sell secrets then yeah I have a hard time backing up an employer who is suing its former employees. Just not a good way to act in my opinion.

I do not know of many companies that sue former employees out of spite.

    Quit feeding trolls...

If I remember reading correctly. Ex employee got information from an employee who was currently working there. That employee who emailed information is no longer there. Hence, two ex employees. Just because this/these ex employees are allegedly offering Summit's info to Surly doesn't mean that they haven't tried to offer it to another brewery.

Regardless if there is a non compete clause, they generally do not stop you from working in the same industry, they may possibly prohibit you from working for a direct comperitor for a specified time. You are still allowed to use your craft to earn an income.

If the story is true, he knows how sensitive and important that information is and how beneficial it would be to have it. If he was still an employee there, what reaction would he have to that information getting out?

Some people have no concept of right and wrong, honor and dishonor, ethical and unethical, let alone legal and illegal.
