If it's like last year, there will be no pickups except for the day of the festival. Pickup was between 1-5 last year, I believe.

True. Have to remember they announced earlier this year than ever before.

Most of the sought after beers will be there. They always come. Huna Day is getting to be one of the premier beer events in in the country if not there already. Breweries know it's good to impress people at it.

Thinking about when the other shoe might drop, I was about to say this could actually be on a downward trajectory as far as pulling big names for drafts, much like Dark Lord Day, with people turning the hype train to the other sought out flavored stouts coming out of Florida and across the country. However, there are few festivals this large, and it seems certain ones like FOBAB are getting too big to handle, or selling too many tickets for the venue. At least at this point, Huna day's list seems to have greatly expanded from where it was a couple days ago, now including:

    3 SONS BREWING CO. LLC
    7venth Sun Brewery
    Aardwolf Brewing Company
    Anderson Valley Brewing
    The Answer
    Barrel of Monks Brewing
    Beavertown Brewery
    Brasserie Dunham
    Bullfrog Brewery
    Brewski
    Central 28 Beer Co.
    Creature Comforts Brewing Co.
    Deciduous Brewing Company
    Devour Brewing Company
    Firestone Walker Brewing Company
    Garagiste Meadery
    Great Notion Brewing
    Half Acre Beer Company
    Highland Park Brewery
    Libertine Brewing Company
    Max Lager’s Wood-Fired Grill & Brewery
    Modern Times Beer
    Off Color Brewing
    Pair O’ Dice Brewing Company
    Põhjala
    Proof Brewing Company
    WeldWerks Brewing Co.
    Wrecking Bar Brewpub

I think some folks concerns is that typically when I spend $100 for tickets to a beer even (if you cost Huna at $25 a bottle), I usually know the brewery list up front, and then figure out the beers as we get closer to the event.

At least thats how I remember events like the Vermont Brewers Fest, Funkfest, Raleigh Rare and Bells Funvitational working, and they are all much bigger events than Huna Day.

Really those are bigger than Huna day? I've never heard of them.

Between local beer festivals big and small that are focused on drinking a wide variety of styles from numerous breweries, and brewery centric festivals whose primary purpose is to sell a specific bottled beer with the added benefit of rare drafts, I've been to all kinds over the past few years. I've seen few with as stellar a tap list as last year's Huna day, the rapid kicking of coveted taps notwithstanding. But none of the festivals I've gone to that were primarily about obtaining bottles revealed a taplist or guest brewers ahead of time.

Anyway, I mainly just wanted to share the new brewery additions I discovered while I was comparing my previous list to the one they seem to have just posted within the past day or two.

80 breweries have been added to the Hunahpu's Day website. Last year there were over 150 breweries present. We're barely halfway there. Of the 80, it looks like 25 are new breweries that did not attend last year, which is pretty cool for those of us who are returning.

No Side Project on the list? That will be a huge disappointment. For me SP and 3 Sons stole the show.

Laughing at all the people freaking out about tap list this early. 2 months out, it always grows and grows until a few weeks before hand.

It'll be fine folks. Your whales will show up, you'll wait in the blazing sun for them.

All I know is proof brewing better bring some more evil kiss fruit punch Berliner again or I'm gonna be so so disappointed.

Anyone setup a bottle share? I'm more than happy to start one. I'm up for Thursday or Friday evening... or both

I think the point might be that the slim list of breweries might be the reason all levels of tickets are still available. Then again, maybe not. The list will continue to grow, though.

They sold out quick every other year with a half tap list. I suspect people just don't find huna worth the bottle price and going to the fest. Easier to trade for it later.

That and they had a bunch of 12 bottle tickets still so it reversed a bit from last year. 8 bottle was last to sell out.

I suspect its this more than anything else.

With so many good breweries these days, its difficult to justify the purchase price of a festival along with a bunch of bottles that are not on par with previous years or are not quite keeping up with the trends.

Its likely if FFF's did a similar thing of having 12 bottle options for DL, and made them $25 a pop, its unlikely they would sell out the day of.

I am almost certain every dingle bottle of Huna will sell, as will every ticket to the event, CCB isn't dumb when it comes to getting your money.
