I wonder how long Motueka+Galaxy lasts today

Cans maybe, growlers no. They have to clean the taps for the night, after last call. Additionally, they have counter-pressure fills, which take more time (but better for the customer). If your busy closing shop, you don't want to have a person filling a growler for somebody who showed up late. Everybody is trying to get everything done (all hands on deck) so they can go home after a long day.

But showing up at 945 isn't "showing up late."

And it was a release day (they opened earlier than usual), and it was super cold out and icy from the snow...lots of reasons that crew had a good excuse to cut out on time. I will add that on a non-release day I've been there until they turned on the lights and it was still pretty busy, and they weren't shouting at people to hurry up and get out. They made the last call and let everyone finish their drinks (I hustled out though so as not to delay their end of shift).

Both sides of this argument have merit. I've been on both sides of this argument. IMO they could've sold him cans or bottles with little fuss.

It is for last call for alcohol in NYC. Read the other posts.

For anyone who has filled a growler at OH, on average how long do they stay fresh if unopened?

Liquor Factory in NJ has a similar growler station and wasn't sure how different/similar it is?

Anybody at the taproom? How busy is it? Thinking about heading over there.

Growlers/fills, yes. But if you're going to sell cans and bottles like a retail liquor store, no reason not to sell them up to closing. I would expect the same if I walked into Buyrite at 9:45.

Think I said that already. We're in agreement. Besides, we don't really know what happened and the original poster has moved on, as should we.

Is there still a line and has Cane Life and its variants survived (to whomever is there)? With my daughter and not gonna stand in the cold, would like to just pop in and out.

Is there a consensus on how All Green Everything stacks up to other OH IIPAs? Had it on tap last night and was a bit underwhelmed. Might have been the keg, but didn't have the same burst of flavor that I find w the DDH releases from last week or some of the others I've had from OH. Am I alone in this view?

I think you would find that many people prefer OH's other beers more than AGE.

Maybe they were asking because they'd be happy to sell you cans and bottles and merch but not samples or pours. That's how it works at the breweries near me.

EDIT I just finised a DDH Suparillo and it is excellent. It is not #fruitjuice just because rillo hops are pretty spicy / herby IMO, but the mouthfeel and everything is spot on. I'd buy it regularly, happily.

Was there actually a line today before opening?

AGE has been hit or miss with me. I've had batches that have blown me away and I've had batches that I thought were disappointing. The last batch of cans (first DDH DMD release) were underwhelming. I don't know if this was due to my palette changing or if it just wasn't that great of a batch.

Today was shameful. It took 35 minutes to get cans from about 10 feet outside the door. There was 5 minutes of waiting on 1 customer. Only 2 people behind the bar. I hope someone called out because OH was so underprepared. One Point of sale. One person filling growlers. One line for everything. Combine that with the unbearable cold. It was a crappy experience.I felt bad for whoever's first day it was coming to Other Half. They make enough money that they should have a better system.
