The service was real poor, waitresses or whatever you would call them were rude and completely unhelpful, and they only had about half of the beer options on the menu actually available in the taproom. I swear we were all sitting there about 20 minutes in an empty bar still without a drink in our hands. Could've just been a one-off but every time I see their beer on the shelf now I can't help but revert back to that nightmare.

That definitely sucks. I'd recommend stopping by again and giving it another chance.

I've been there dozens of times and never had an experience like that. The printed menu may not be accurate but there is a list at the end of the bar that details all the offerings. I usually sit at the bar, however.

I've had a bad experience there before with crappy service (sitting at the bar in the early afternoon on a weekday so the place was not busy but the bartenders were busy hanging with their friends).

Looks like a few kegs of Gang of Blades made it to the Triangle for those looking to try some. Bottle Rev RDU and Pharmacy Bottle & Bev tapped today.

Had some great beers while in NC over Christmas...

My dad had 4 bottles of FoN waiting in the fridge for me - this beer is highly overrated, but still pretty good- super cool of him to have them for me too!
Heist's Thirst - one of the better murky IPAs I've tried
    Pernicious - still amazing
Pillow Talker - solid DIPA, nothing to really write home about
Hoppy Holidays - so much better than Hop Drop (and I LOVE Hop Drop)

    Other non-IPA beers of note:
Highland - they might not have the beanie baby status of a place like Heist, but all of their beers are excellent
WW Baltic Porter - incredibly well done and I style that I feel needs more love
The Dweller - Greenman's brewery is a really great spot, but this is easily one of my favorite RIS's I've ever come across (brought 6 home :grinning:)
NB tour - definitely has the same feel as the FC location, but their slide is much longer
Old Meck - huge, German beer hall style place, had the Fat Boy Baltic Porter and it was also a really good example of the style

    Completely non-beer:
LaZoom comedy bus tour in Asheville- if you people are ever out there, make it a priority to get on this bus- you will laugh your asses off AND you can BYOB on the bus (picks up across the street from WW ta boot)

Was very impressed by Trophy's Galaxy DIPA over the weekend. Really smooth, albeit a bit thin. But this is the case with a lot of Trophy's beers I have noticed.

Heading from Charlotte to Asheboro this weekend. Looking for a growler/crowler or two of a nice IPA...hazier/juicier the better. I think I've narrowed it down to High Branch in Concord on the way or 4 Saints in downtown Asheboro. Are these places kid friendly? I'm only gonna get to stop at one - which should it be? Or a difference choice altogether?

I have heard 4 Saints is kid friendly, which would make sense since many visitors are there for the zoo, and just stopping in while in town.

    Nice...much appreciated...

    Now...

Same question, minus the kids (woo hoo! Par-tay!) and the trip is to Chapel Hill instead of Asheboro? Steel String my best option for something nice and hoppy close to Dean Smith Center?

Steel String is great, Beer Study is a bit closer. Can't go wrong either way.
