J Wakefield Releases

Both show available on the website and they showed them as being available on Instagram. Won't get down there until tomorrow to see with my own eyes but I'd guess yes.

 

Phat Bottom, Gimme Smores and Upper Body Strength all releasing Saturday.

I have not been to any of the big stout releases but it's super easy to get these smaller releases. I get there a little early so I can park right next to the brewery, pop in grab the beer and I'm home within the hour. Phat Bottom sounds interesting, Careless Witbier was fantastic so I will grab a 4 pack to try more of their sours if I go Saturday.

 

I just told my significant other about the release and her silence was enough to let me know whether I'm going or not. So maybe someone would be willing to snag one of each bottle and a 4 pack for me...

 

What's the protocol with these releases? As an avid trillium fan and excited first timer at J wakefield this weekend I want to make sure I handle everything correctly. If I get there 10-15 before open am I fine? Fine anytime throughout the day? appreciate an insight, excited about visiting

 

There will definitely be some people line starting in the morning. I don't expect it to be too many people because:

a) it's non-BA beer / miami madness / dfpf release
b) there are no limits on any of the beers releasing

I actually think you would be much better off going around 1-2 and not having to wait at all. Might take you 30 mins - 1 hour to make your purchase right at Noon. Of course, if you really want these beers it's probably better to play it safe and get there a little before noon just in case.

 

I grabbed one, and I enjoyed it. I've been down to JWB before though, so I knew what to expect.

@HarryS , what is the plan/outlook for JWB beers in South Carolina? Any idea if we are going to see other offerings? I'll admit, I was quite surprised to see it in our local bottle shop in Upstate S.C.

 

I honestly don't know. I'm not working at JWB full time anymore. Just Brand Ambassador for now, while working on my other projects. Sorry!

Does anyone know if any bottles/cans are still available?

 

Untappd app shows they still have bottles of Phat Bottom, and Cans of the Upper Body Strength.. they keep that pretty up to date.

this may be a bit premature but does anyone know if the 4 bottles mentioned for vip tix for wake fest will definitely be the 4 bottles? (in particular, the BA big poppa - it sounded incredible and I'm definitely hoping for it) thanks

 

It says that the bottles are subject to change, but I am also definitely hoping that the 4th bottle is BA Big Poppa

people started complaining so now he's rethinking on what to do

 

?? GA ticket said it was only to include the golden ticket stout from the beginning. Only VIP ever said big poppa was included

 

Yea, I bought the VIP ticket and I know that the 4 beers were all "subject to change" or some such phrasing. I also have seen reference to the other three beers again, but not the BA big poppa, was hoping someone had some insight on that. As for the two varietals / versions of it, I don't know about that either

 

there's a 3 bottle additional bundle available to purchase for ticket holders. You should have been emailed about it.

As far as I know, VIPs will most definitely be getting BA big poppa along with the 3 other bottles mentioned.

 

He actually posted on Facebook and IG that he was doing two big poppa one for GA and one for VIP


Everyone complained. So that idea got nixed.
