I'm surprised based on how long other releases took to sell out. Not surprised based on quality, they have been killing it lately. I'm sure this one will be no different. Can't wait to try.

Thanks man! I've always tried to keep our supply in line with our demand. I'm a strong believer that beer, even long aged ones, should be accessible to a certain extent. However, as the brand grows it is becoming increasing more difficult to keep up with the demand. We simply don't have the space for barrels, and my time, to keep up with the growing demand. I'm glad you have been enjoying my creations. I know I love making and sharing them with you. Cheers! -Ehren

Didn't Mackinaw see out pretty quickly as well?

With the type of beer you're making it can be almost impossible to keep up, but I really like the sentiment.

Btw, the b2 Macinaw and Saison Rustique Framboise were both standouts for me at this year's guild fest. Can't wait to try Truth From Heart. I couldn't be happier I now work nearby. At risk of sounding overly praiseworthy I have the say as a scientist I love the science-based style you bring to sour beer. I can't wait to see more of your creations with some of the locally isolated wild yeast and microfauna. Is that in the wings or already being incorporated into the current barrel aged stuff? Anyway, I love what you're doing and appreciate the communication on BA.

    Cheers!

I have incorporated some native organisms into some barrels (including Truth). I am currently working on a line of beers fermented exclusively with native microflora. Thanks so much for the praise and I look forward to meeting you the next time you're in the tasting room. Cheers!

I think mackinaw was roughly 45 minutes or so. BA purple drink (drank?) I think was an hour. It's been steadily selling out faster.

Purple drink was 8 minutes. Not that anyone was counting......

    Hey all...

Here to let you know that we are releasing Saison Rustique Framboise this Saturday. Saison Rustique Framboise is our rustic saison base consisting of under modified pilsner malt, rye, spelt and oats. It was fermented and aged in french oak barrels for 6 months. It was aged an additional 2 months on top of gorgeous fresh red raspberries and refermented in the bottle for 5 months. This is the second iteration of our "Rustique" line (Saison Chêne Rustique and its fruited accomplice Saison Chêne Rustique d'Abricot were the first). Saison is a style of beer I hold very near and dear to my heart, and many of my other mixed fermentation saisons are getting ready to roll out in the next few months. I hope you guys like mixed fermentation saisons!

    Cheers!

When I picked up my bottles I got to try House Blend Passionfruit. Man that's a good beer. Highly recommend giving it a shot when you drop by

Dusting off this thread. Current head brewer is leaving to Mikkeller in Europe very soon. What that means for Toolbox and its future, we will find out soon enough. Made my way up to North County yesterday and tried some newer brews. Equilibrium BBA stout was delicious, and their hazy offerings were surprisingly well done.

I can't tell from the social media's page mentioning his stake if it's just the barrels he was in charge of before leaving or if he actually has vested interest in the brewery...

Wow again? That would certainly explain the change in styles offered. Just when they were starting to hit a pattern of awesome sour releases.

I believe he had some stake in the company but not vested enough (if at all anymore) to be "helping" while moving on to much larger projects 5,600 miles away. Hopefully all those barrels he filled are in capable enough hands with the new brewer (the owner ?) Ehren did some great work building them back up from their last brewer that left, that'll be three brewers in less than three years... ouch.

Went by there today to try their new Raspberry Milkshake IPA and thought it was great. Spencer was nice enough to let me try a can of the IPA they are releasing Saturday and I thought that was great too (probably the best haze being made in North County).

I visited this place about one year ago. I've had four of their beers and I enjoyed them all.

I'm waiting for reports of how the first cans hold up. The one time I tried the hazy ipas they seemed to have an herbal character I didn't like. Anyone else have a similar experience?
