Well, maybe they changed back to allowing dogs? We were there a month ago and couldn't go in because of a big sign on the door that said no dogs. FWIW, it sounded like it wasn't their choice to disallow dogs at the time.

In recent years I've seen retailers posting "No Dogs* Allowed" signs with more frequency -- a pretty big change, as the Twin Cities has become very dog-friendly over the past twenty years.

I'm sure that there's a solution to be found. Denver retailer Biscuits and Brews has taken a 'next level' approach to dogs in-a-bar, and I imagine such an idea would go over well, locally:

*Other than service dogs, of course.

Wow That's sad if true, what about the friendly house dog that greets you when you come in to buy beer?

I am at Sisyphus right now and there are 4 dogs here off leash. It is definitely dog friendly again.

As someone who is very allergic to dogs this would be an anxiety provoking experience for me which is the opposite of what I want when I go out for a beer. Allowing dogs into the establishment, especially off leash, is a two way street for a brewery. It will attract some costumers, and repel others.

What is your website address? When I click on the one in Google Maps, it leads me to a Japanese website...

So where does a place like Butcher & the Boar's "outdoor" beer garden fall into this then? They serve a regular food menu and it could be argued that it's not technically outdoors with the permanent tent placed over everything.

I can't wait to inform my family that I'm an over-eater. It's offensive to criticize someone for having an eating disorder.

    Thanks for that link.

For what it's worth, I know at least one sighted person (not blind) who always has a dog with them for other needs, and wonder how all of this will affect others with similar needs.

I'm not sure of the specific laws governing service animals, but from my understanding if the owner has the proper documentation the animal can be brought anywhere.

I had a friend bring his service dog with this service card to Bauhaus and they basically said if you have the documents there is nothing we're going to do. I got the impression they really didn't care but had been previously sited. It was summer so we moved to the patio anyway.

That is more than they actually need to provide. There is no standard for having paperwork for a service dog. A business owner is allowed to ask if the animal is a service animal, and if so what tasks the animal performs. That's it. Sure, someone could lie, but are you really that needy for your dog to go places?

Note: A service dog is different than an emotional support dog or therapy dog, which are not covered under the ADA.

I like dogs and I would hate that.

Dogs should be controlled, and I really don't want them running around where food and beverages are served.
