RAR pre-release is a huge cluster. Other people's info (name, CC #, addresses) were being loaded on the confirmation screen. Amounts weren't right. I was charged ~$94 for two packs of pulp and one 1st morning bomber

Was thinking about going out for the release but don't think I will after seeing the recent facebook discussion on RAR's page. Even with 300 cases, the no limit on BA 1st Meal is going to be a cluster IMO.

Are their beers even that good? Haven't been too impressed with the few I've had from them.

I generally like their stuff but people have so much FOMO about their beer that the releases can be pretty comical. For instance people were lined up outside of Max's for over an hour on Saturday morning in the cold and rain for the single can release. You can walk into Max's right now and still get cans.

RAR does a great job with the releases and they're usually a lot a fun, it's the people going that make it an unnecessary hassle sometimes.

When I tried their stuff a little over a year ago I wasn't blown away. However having come back to them recently I've been thoroughly impressed by a number of their beers. Goes to show you that every brewery should be given a couple shots. Especially since even some of the best have problems from time to time.

most of their stuff is decent (not mind blowing) First meal is my favorite beer of theirs (put it against MBCP any day), so I was looking forward to theirs. I'll be ISO of it, since I'll be in FL this weekend and won't be able to make the release.

Hyde is probably my favorite IPA brewed in Maryland.

If nothing else, RAR is doing a good job of generating hype for MD's beer scene. I can't recall having anything truly jaw-dropping from them (except for one of the first batches of Habanero Nectar), but hey, plenty of people are going crazy for it all the same.

Why is this a good thing? Try and name a beer from Maryland that could potentially land something from Trillium or Trade House that isn't a brewery-only RAR can.

The neophyte asked: "Master, is that a good brewery?"

The master replied: "Ask yourself my son- does that brewery's beer trade for Treehouse or Trillium on the FT:ISO forums of beeradvocate? Then, you will have answered your first question, my son."

Trust me when I say there are other MD breweries I prefer to RAR that get a tenth of the "hype"

Singlecut cans at CBC. Don't expect a deal tho they're $8 and $6.75 a can.

Damn, I thought this would make their beers cheaper. Saw that that Bon-Bon cans were $16/4 pack in NY-- so is this CBC's doing then?

Or it could be the distributor. CBC's prices are usually pretty fair so not sure why they'd jack up the price on these of all things.

Should be getting in some SingleCut cans at work this week. Won't be that expensive, but won't be much cheaper either...
