I may be completely misunderstanding your post and if so, ignore me, but are you saying you were going to run to Binnys before 6AM? if so, note that they are open from 9AM - 9PM

Also, the beer guys at Grand are great - ask them for some suggestions on local IPAs and stouts and they will help you out.

Naaa, I was just going to go for my runs early, early. I plan on running the Lakefront trail, but figure if it's my one chance to check out the city, I might run a few city blocks early. I'm just not sure what to expect auto and pedestrian traffic wise.

I'll definitely bring my fair share of questions. I'll plan on checking out Binny's. I appreciate the help!

Definitely try go get to a park or the lakefront. Running through the loop/river north sounds awful. It'll be pretty deserted at 5 am thigh.

Also be aware most parks don't open until sunrise for safety reasons.

Though the lakeshore is the gem, running through downtown (aside from all the stopping for traffic lights) is a close second for beauty if you appreciate the energy of the city and the marvels of architecture.

I do love architecture. Just looking at Google Maps street view at Binny's, I'm excited.

Can you run Lakeshore at 5 AM? Surely folks run before they dawn their ties and work in the city.

You can only run along the Lakeshore at 5AM if you are using NE IPAs as fuel. The city requires stouts and thus should be discussed in the other thread.

Did anyone grab some of that Mikerphone / Werk Force New England Style Black IPA?
Really curious about how that turned out. A "juicy" black IPA?

Edit: Oh, I guess I should've checked the Mikerphone thread first !

Just FYI , was contemplating checking them out today too but called to see if Right Near the Peach Boyeeee (RNPB? Should that be a thing?) was indeed back on and I was told it would be back tomorrow (Friday).

I just picked up a Crowler of Funny Gummy. Never had a Crowler before. Want to save it for Sunday for the Championship games, will it last that long? Thanks!!

I know I've left crowlers in the fridge that long, so yeah, should be fine. I'm think they're supposed to be slightly better longer-term options than typical screw-on growlers (if I'm not mistaken), and I've had those last probably a week, easy.

It'll be fine till then. I wouldn't let it sit more than a week.

Excellent. I'm heading out that direction on Saturday. Hopefully they'll still have 1 or both on by then.

Forgot to like this comment. I hate working in the Loop for a lot of reasons (the people all seem miserable going to and from work), but man, you can definitely tell why Christopher Nolan shot so much of his Batman movies here. The early 1900s architecture is fantastic, and even the new stuff is pretty great.

If anyone was wondering, Transient's Juice is Loose is still holding up extremely well. Great stuff.

I don't mean to pick on you here, but it has been 3 weeks since the beer was canned. These beers do not go bad after 3 weeks. I will repeat what I have said here many times. Tree House's twitter says they feel the sweet spot is 4-6 weeks on their hoppy beers. There is NO reason Juice Is Loose shouldn't be fine through February. The flavors are going to change, as they do in any beer over time, but for at least 6 weeks, they should be fine.

I had a 6 week old Julius side-by-side with a 1 day old Julius and while you could pick out which was which, they both tasted absolutely fantastic.

Maybe this isn't true for poorly made beers of this style, but for any well made beers, they will last a decent amount of time. I have a Haze and a Heady Topper from July in my fridge and I bet they'll taste pretty damn good whenever I feel like cracking them.

While I agree in general, the first batch of Galaxy Bowl definitely was not the same after 3 or so weeks. I've got one last can of Reply Hazy that I would imagine also will not be the same, whenever I have it. :grinning:

I think in general we shouldn't worry about a 3 week old beer, but some of the breweries newer to the NE stuff seem to have not quite locked in their process yet.

Agree. Galaxy Bowl and even Juicy and Morning Fog from Ram fell off after 3 weeks. But like the previous poster said, that Treehouse beer is easily good for 4-8 weeks post canning.
