What does "DOT" stand for? Excuse my lack of knowledge.

Love the monthly release idea. I think that would be good for both parties.

The real MVP is the girl that usually wears overalls and quickly picks up empty glasses. I hope she gets a cut from the tips.

No refunds... but then how long is your pick up window? As you shift from one style to another, there are different logistical requirements and I have no idea how extending the pick up window for IPAs would impact them.

You can look at it different ways... the current styles is an "all hands on deck" blitz style event which takes a bit more manpower but it isolates all of the work to a few hour stretch as opposed to a broader time period which decreases overall manpower but also commands the staff's attention for a lot longer, holds up the taproom line incrementally each time they have to go look for a name to cross off the list.

I hope they do, but I am also not judging them for the way they are running it now. I think it works and, fact is, they will never make everyone happy.

Doesn't seem like they care? Jesus...

They are a lot of competing interests, trying to find one that makes literally everyone happy is impossible.

Interesting. I suppose I should've assumed some coder that was sick of beer lines was going to find an technological solution to the problem.

While I've certainly seen people try to buy/sell cans to those in the back, I think this Dot person posts on FB groups for secondary sales... just instead of waiting to get home to snap the picture (or even their car), they take photos of the cans and post them for sale from within the brewery.

Whoever cleans the men's restroom deserves honorable mention as well. Judging by the girth of many hazebros, I would imagine the toilet experiences a lot of clogs. Especially on can release days. Fantastic Cafe anyone?

No, that's the inside of the heads of the can flippers as they check for allocation limits on their phones and determine secondary value paybacks.

after doing a little reading around, I can say that I 100% believe this guy is the same grumpy old man as catchy_name. His first posts are just weeks after the dude was banned, and almost entirely in the monkish threads, with the occasional other LA/OC crap (same pattern for both accounts). And all the same stupid dribble. Welcome back you grumpy old fart.

Here's the thing an online sales doesn't really prevent it from selling out any faster than it already does and now folks have a window to pick it up, which, again does nothing to benefit Monkish.

Also, a lot of the inline drinking and smoking went away when they went with the "post only a few hours before the release", when folks stopped camping out over night for the cans.

As for more of a work load for folks in the current system, it's really not. The tap room is running on about 3 workers as 3 others handle the can sales and within the hour and a half they go back to their normal role, which is about the time when the tasting room needs more hands on deck.
Prior to the sale, those who are handling the sell through of cans and the pours gave out wristbands so once done they're ringing people up at respected area.

It may look chaotic, but the way they're running it is a pretty well oiled machine at this point. Most haze folks grab their cans and bounce out or get a growler fill and bounce out. The tasting room hasn't been as packed as it was in the early days of can releases post sales.

FWIW, to those who think this thread isn't "constructive" enough, go check out the Tired Hands thread sometime. My point is, we're just here to shoot the shit about beer, the good, bad, and ugly.

A pickup window could benefit them in the form of supplemental income from tasting room sales. Especially if they had an online system where $20 reserved you an allocation and at pickup you got the $20 back in form of credit at the bar. Online sales are also more egalitarian as not everyone can make it between 4-6pm on a weekday. Instead of a culture where people pick up their beer and bounce, it seems better if they could make one where people feel welcome to visit and socialize.
