Most places stay at the higher end for general retail, don't want to be undercutting the local packy prices.

I think it is awesome that you post this stuff here. One of the things that I find a little frustrating is the focus on the type of hops and not the other components. There are dozens of really mediocre beers that use the same hops as you and other good breweries. Any further insights would be most welcome, at least for me...

    CBC carries them as well.

I tend to pick 'em up at CBC in Belmont, sometimes at Redstone. Was at both yesterday, since Redstone had a delivery of Captain's Daughter and Belmont is close to my office, and both had Exhibit 'A' in stock.

Can confirm they still do in Belmont - the rye, the double, and the IPA. Picked up a single of Hair Raiser. I wish I had remembered this thread since I guess I'm going to either a) have a beer I don't like that much or b) have a beer I love that they won't be making anymore.

Oh well, at least I'll be able to say someday that 'I had it before it changed, man"

The Briefcase Porter that I got just after Christmas is drinking incredibly right now. It tastes like tasty chocolate milk.

Luckily for me I found a third option of "It's decent, but I won't specifically miss it." I agree with people who said the mint on the back end overpowers things a bit.

I look forward to trying it again, but I have to admit the price point is going to be a bit of a stumbling block for me. I'll spend $20 on a 4 pack now and again when I make a special trip to a brewery, but when I'm in a store and surrounded by multiple options, I tend to balk at spending more than about $15.

Thankfully that won't effect my ability to buy plenty of the Kolsch though! Speaking of which, a friend brought a Reissdorff by over the weekend and I really enjoyed it. It had just the barest tinge of that skunk/sulfur taste that I associate with a lot of lighter imports, but otherwise it was pretty great. And at least from memory, it seemed like Goody Two Shoes wasn't too far off in approximating its profile.

For anyone who's looking, Pemberton Farms in Cambridge appears to have just received a good sized drop (10ish cases on the floor) of Cat's Meow and the Rye. Didn't see any Kolsch though.

Some of the Exhibit A stuff ends up in the cooler door by the ciders...I saw Cat's Meow and Hair Raiser in there today, and either Goody or Leitmotif.

Do these cans ever show up anywhere in Boston?

Diggin the Demo Tape 10. I like how the rye bite contrasts with Simcoe juice. Gotta put this one with my other favorites from the brewery (Briefcase Porter, Hair Raiser, Cat's Meow, Goody Two Shoes and the original demo version of Mindset that was sans Pekko... Pekko just isn't the hop for me).

What I really like about these guys is the variety of quality beers they produce. I wonder when they'll put out a stout. I know there's a barleywine currently aging in barrels.

Yesterday they posted that they’re filling rye whiskey barrels with an imperial stout.

Yeah that Demo Tape 10 was awesome. Matt was saying that it is a local variety of rye (Valley if I remember correctly?) and it is a bit softer than most rye so the spice doesn't overtake the beer and blends in nicely with the Simcoe. I have to agree with that description to be honest. It was just delicious that is for sure.

Valley Danko Rye? That seems to be the local one that shows up a lot.

Yeah, maybe that is it. I honestly don't remember exactly. I know Tril uses a bunch of that in their various beers.

Had demo tape five, their porter on tap yesterday. A decent porter but nothing memorable. Nothing really stands out in the beer and it was a little thin. I'll probably try more if I see other options but not the best first impression.

I have had a couple of their beers and really liked Hair Raiser. Planning a trip to a few places in Mass and they are definitely one of our stops.
