It has dairy in it, that was enough reason for me to drink it fresh. Does lactose go bad?

As for glasses this is one of my favorites. It's a Wicked Weed glass maybe 24oz.

Perfect size. I have yet to try the Hoarders glass. But I also don't want to break it.

Already broke my Hoarders glass. Second time washing it, it cracked when I ran a sponge on the inside. :slight_frown:

Careful with the thin glass. The Wicked Weed glass looks stronger, at least.

I've broke glass like that before, now I never scrub glassware with a sponge. Just rinse it out in the sink with hot water then air dry on a glassware drying mat, no scrubbing or soap.

Blake's BBQ is a small joint nearby and has killer BBQ, and personally I'm always a sucker for Lazy Dog, which is a few exits down across from the Brea Mall.

That works perfect on every glass I've ever seen, except the Dogfish Head 'IPA' glass. I literally have seen two of those explode from just lukewarm water. Those things are thinner than paper.

It doesn't have any dairy in it at all. Lactose is a disaccharide sugar that (most) yeast can't metabolize, it's commonly added to beer to give it a more complex sweetness than, let's say, glucose. So no, lactose sugar won't go bad in a beer.

Decided to blend a 50/50 M&V with M&FT. Liking the way the extra vanilla supports the FT.

Introduced some friends to the bruery with black tuesday, the wanderer, oude tart with cherries, sourrento, tart of darkness with cherry & vanilla, and saison rue. While Black Tuesday is delicious, I think Oude Tart w/ cherries won the night.

I have posted this is various threads over the years. It is purely anecdotal, so take it for what it is worth. I typically consume weekday stout bottles over three days, approximately one-third of the bottle each day. After a lot of trial and error, I have worked out that I require insulin for 35 grams of carbohydrate for each (approx.) 8 oz serving. Due to the downward effect alcohol has on blood sugar, I would expected there is actually much more than 105 grams of carbohydrate per bottle. Again, this is from my experience and by no means meant to provide anything more than a rough estimate for those that care.

Yes they are the same. I bought two before i realized we were getting them in tne HS initial package.
For what it's worth they're incredibly thin and they're terrifying to use: I feel like if I squeeze my hand too hard while holding them I'll break them.
In fact, I guess it is it's good that I bought two because two of already broken.

Hey @BruerJoel - just out of curiosity, what goes into decision of which beers get flat bottom bottles and which get dimpled bottom?

Jesus, so many people with broken glass (myself included).

@BruerJoel - I'm not expecting anything to be done about this as sh!t happens, but can this be brought up for future merch choices? The glassware looks great, but if a lot of people are getting 2-3 uses out of it before it breaks, then maybe something can be done for the future to help avoid this.

I have always had good luck getting free/cheap glassware at german beer houses that try their best to serve each breweries product in glassware provided by the brewery. If they only have a single 5gal keg to tap, then the glassware won't be used again in the near future and they will want to get rid of the glasses because they just take up space. My favorite tulip glass is from Rince Cochon. (Thick too!)

    Hi Josh,

I hear you about the delicate glassware! Higher end stemware is on the thinner / delicate side, so if we went with thicker glassware, the design choices and the overall presentation would be much more limited (but at least they'd be a lot less expensive!).

At home I use a stemware cleaning brush to wash these sorts of glasses, and I almost never break glasses (well... from cleaning anyway).

Here's something similar to what I use: https://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/st..._id=13648662&gclid=CLXQ2Jj42NECFQ6bfgodesICFg

    Cheers,

You'd be amazed how cheap Belgian glassware is. Through the distributor we have all sorts of branded glassware choices, most US breweries run $3-4 per glass, whereas nice Belgian stemware (Straffe Hendrick, Delirium, Orval) are more like .60-90 cents each. German stuff isn't much more expensive. And that's after paying importing and three tier markup.
