$66 invested at the present going rate of 2.5% (tops) will get me to $804 in 100 years. I hope there's no inflation or taxes on my income during that time either...

yeah, we kind of wish we allocated more than a half day in that neck of the woods. not much to do that doesn't involve breweries or bikes. but drinking fresh Westy at the cafe? eh. overrated. too touristy. De Strusse was much better. laid back and legit.
wish i would have been into De Dolle back then. would have loved to see their brewery.

I have been to the area three times and for whatever reason I keep forgetting to go to De Dolle. It has a iron mash tun and I have heard it is super cool oh well next visit.

Whoa, wait, what? À La Fût lambic?? Please say this is a real thing!! Earlier today I was talking with another BA about this brewery quickly becoming one of the best in Canada (to us anyways), and now you say they have a lambic?!!
    Holy frickin' ISO!!!

Think he's talking about these ones. They're technically not lambics but to some varying degrees they could be called sours. The first 2 or 3 are long gone from the shelves but maybe the last one might still be available. I'll see if i can find some:

Quebec has some real gems. Next time I am in Montreal I will have to rent a car and go on a little road trip to some of these places.

Actually there's a couple of co hop V at the store near my place. They are aged in oak barrel for 17 months it's actually a rouge des flandres not sure what is the translation.A verry similar ond new beer would be this one.

It's kind of flown under the radar around here but yes, should be an easy trade even at the high price tag. Also happens to be the "Beer of the Year", not that most around here would trust those judges opinions over other BA's.

Just got a message back from à la fût look's like they will have a lambic beer. They told me it's still aging in oak barrels and that it will be available in 12 month's.

Managed to get my hands on one of these Westvleteren 6 packs during a trip to Halifax (Im in Ontario so who knows when the LCBO will release theirs). 99.99 after taxes. Im a little disappointed at how small the glasses are hah.

Strongly agree with you. Had a 12 this past weekend that I got as a gift and was not impressed. I'll turn around to the SAQ any day and by a rochefort 10 for 4.30$ before I buy a westy 12.

More for those who love it right?

True. Right now it's a little hot and less complex than Rochefort IMHO. I've had it with a couple of years on it and its really nice then...

If you get a bottle sit on it.

As an aside I had the 8 with a year on it and it was stellar.

What??? The Westy 12 is so better, IMO! The Rochefort is too sweet, while the 12 had a nice sligh bitter finish that I adore!
