Face it, Smogcity is getting the hype talk taken from them with Monkish next to it. Their releases are just not selling out because of the amount folks would rather save that income for Monkish release. Nothing wrong with these smog city beers, I love infinite wishes, cracked open a Batch 1 the other week and loved it. But my money is spread thin on beer releases, as I'm sure many others beer budget is and the releases like this and El Segundo's BA Standard Crude, a very respectable beer in itself, go by not being sold out.

I can't say it's a bad thing, tbh. Means you don't have to jump on it immediately. But it's well worth realizing that these are not that hard to come by any more.

It is all about the trade value that drives the hype
If you just want to drink good beer this is some awesome stuff and I am glad to be able to get 6 bottles with no problem

I'd normally buy in but trying to cut back. It is great but skippable IMO.

I pulled out a '16 a few weeks back and it was superb. Expect the same for '17. Easy buy for me.

But I do agree so many good options now... I need more cellar space.

I like Smog City's IPA's. Not so much into the other styles they brew. Stouts are pretty good as well. I wish they would put out more IPA's (not the NE Haze stuff). I find myself going to Smog City less and less these days with all the IPA-goodness that I can get elsewhere. But it would be nice to see some different IPA's coming from SC. I'll have to check out their new satellite location in LB. But no growler fills yet.

What are your thoughts regarding tomorrow Smog City? Will it be crazy since it's release day for '17 IW? I want to go and pick up my bottles, since its the best opportunity for me, but I don't want to deal with lines, or anything like that just for a pickup.

I'm hoping to get there around 12noon. Any concerns?

If I wanted to wait in lines I would be across the street with my lawn chair.

I don't think it will be too bad. The pickup window is a decent amount of time.

I was at the release last year. It wasn't crazy. I noticed on IG, IW '15 & IW '16 bottles will be available. So it might be busy at opening!

if i recall from last year they had the pickups on the other side of the warehouse and yeah the actual tasting room wasn't too crazy

Yeah, definitely wasn't crazy last year, and this year didn't even sell out. Pickups are in the back, and last time they had a second little bar set up inside across the room doing pours. Only issue might be finding a place to sit/put your drinks on.

Anyone visit Steelcraft? I've been meaning to drop by there but then the difference going to that location or their main one in terms of distance is kind of negligible for me.

It's pretty rad, but I'd wait until the ramen and burger places open (later this month)

I really like the bottle pick up in the back of the brewery. Second year in a row, no line, no wait, walk up, show my ID, check, here's your bottles, done in 5 minutes (OK, I'm exaggerating, it actually took less time)

    Well done, Smog City.

That two-year unbarrel aged batch of Infinite Wishes is tasting mighty fine.

Maybe I just can't understand, but unbarrel aged IW is just The Nothing isn't it?
