It could be fucking with your blood sugar. Probably not a huge deal, but maybe mention to your doctor next time you have a check-up, be-it tomorrow or 9 months from now.

Think it's more the BAC crash. As you drink you BAC level increases and gives you energy. As it sinks back down post drinking you get the crash that makes you sleepy.

Yeah, this sounds right, at least for me.

Also for anyone who cares, PS 4-packs are $25 at the Field ($22 for members). I'm happy doing it one time to give the museum some moolah, but other than that, I'm glad TG is distributing to Chicago soon, because that is ROUGH.

Just the 16 ounce cans? No bottles?

Yup, unfortunately. They've got pint glasses and shirts, but no actual beer aside from PS cans. Whether that will change in the future, I'm not sure.

Nothing seemed to be on tap yet; I assume that's coming with the special TG beer thing tonight.

Yeah, I figure they'll have the Double Dry Hopped PseudoSue since the bottles from Decorah had the museum logo on them. That, by the way, is an amazing beer. Wish I would have grabbed a whole case when I was up there.

I assume so too. Hopefully someone from BA will be there tonight, and update us on the beer situation.

Yikes. I might have guessed 15, but damn. Then again, their typical visitor probably doesn't know any better.

Still more reasonable than Transient 4 packs...this one at least includes a viewing of a $25 million dollar dinosaur...

I thought of you and the JIL debate when I saw the price at the register.
I honestly think they're just putting a large markup on there because they're trying to make a lot of profit on all the items they sell. The TG t-shirts are "only" $25 as well, which means the shirt and the 4-pack are the same price. I assume the cost of the beer to the Field is higher.

The one upside to this whole thing is that like the Eclipse BA stouts, if I ever have a craving for canned PS, I know one place that'll always have it in stock.

I would think the opposite is true. People who are very into craft beer but don't venture into Milwaukee/Iowa may be eager to try it at any cost. I'd think the type of visitor that picks up Two Hearted at Jewel (to mad lib an example) will look at $25 for 4 beers as insane. But maybe I'm wrong

I guess I'm not really thinking of beer drinkers at all. I'm picturing people wandering around the shop and they stumble across this cool museum-themed beverage they've never seen before and grab it on a whim without realizing they can get it for less than half the price in distro.

Not really the same. It's not like I can drive up to Wisconsin and get JIL for 10 bucks. Hell, I can just wait a week or two and buy it here.

Some mark up is expected, but at that price it will sit unless non-craft people grab it.

When is the last time something in a museum shop was reasonably priced? I wouldn't expect it any other way for beer. I would laugh my behind off if some parent unsuspectingly bought their kids some TG dinojuice because it had a picture of the museum dino on it...

Yeah, I didn't think of this at first, but it's true.

"Oh cool, look honey, the Field has an IPA named after Sue. Last grab some for when Little Johnny turns 21!"

Honestly, the way things are going currently, the Field Museum and other places like it are going to need all the PsuedoSue markups they can get.
