Other Half Brewing January 2017!

I missed out on cans one weekend this past fall and found a local store in queens that had cans. It was the owner who went and picked them up to re-sell in the store. They were charging $8/can which isn't too bad but I still couldn't pull the trigger knowing that they were marking it up to almost double retail. I passed...but totally understand those that pay the premium as it can be way out of the way for some and well worth the premium to try a couple cans.

 

Haymaker also charges 8 for DDH OH cans and I'm fairly certain they're sanctioned...

 

Yea. I wouldn't do it regularly, as there are still so many good local options - Singlecut is on my way home from work. But to know that every once in a while I might be able to try a can is nice. In all seriousness, what's the difference between a $10 can of OH or a $10 bottle of almanac?

 

Not too many people are aware of Industrial Arts to call it a ZOMG collab imo (even though I love IA)

I certainly don't think it's necessary for this release, but lord knows that's not gonna stop anybody from doing it.

Hell..I'll probably be there before 8 just to have the luxury of getting back to Long Island at a decent hour.

There's a new kolsch glass and a new taster glass. New hats I think too.

If one shows up mid week (e.g. tonight), are there any cans available of anything to buy? Going on a ski trip this weekend and wanted to see if I could bring a 4 pack or 2 of OH.

 

Got to try Green Down to the Socks last night at Spuyten Duyvil last night... we were looking for a drink close to the Knitting Factory and just randomly walked in there. Delicious beer. Had a nice mosaic profile and great feel. Anyone know if this is available for fills at the taproom?

This is probably a noob question, but I have a growler of DDH ACE from Saturday that I was hoping to save until next weekend. Should it be fine, or am I better off just drinking it this weekend?

Pretty sure if a Bar is caught selling cans that the didnt get above table, they loose their liquor license.
