Awesome  I know the color won't be exact because my recipe isn't the same as everyone's, I did extract, and only have capacity to do a 3.5 gallon boil, but I'm glad to know it's in the ball park of the color spectrum. The taste sample I took from the hydrometer was very tasty and the smell was excellent! I am excited to see the end results of this! I picked up a lot of information from this thread so we will see how well I used it lol

With it being so thick I was scared they would just sit on top, that's a 7 gallon bucket lol

I've never had a krausen like that before (first time using liquid yeast and a starter) will that fall back down into the wort? What happens if it doesn't lol

I am guessing you used 1318? I usually have to rock my fermenter a bit to knock it down around day seven.

Yeah I used 1318 with a 1L starter. So how long do you let it sit before rack to keg after you knock it down. I plan to transfer to keg on Sunday afternoon

*edit* Friday will be day 7

If fermentation is finished, you can just rack from underneath the krausen.

What's the hurry? I'd leave it alone for another week before racking to the keg. I know it's a NEIPA, but there will still be plenty of time to drink fresh...patience, grasshopper

No hurry, I will be transferring it to keg to do second dry hop for a week, then I will carb at it serving pressure for a week or 2

    .

True for almost every beer...except maybe a NEIPA...the carbonic acid of full carbonation may sharpen the edges more than you would like.
