Anyone tried Lil Shredder, Hoppiness is Fleeting or Carmela?

Lil Shredder - I don't like Session IPAs. But this tasted like what you would expect of a Cellarmaker Pale Ale - Fragant, Hoppy, Fruity... but without the biscuity malt component. As such, it's a tropical fruit-forward beer. Pleasant surprise!

Hoppiness is Fleeting - Like Lil' Shredder, is also hazy, but I felt like it has too much diesel/dank notes for my liking. It got better as it warmed, but wasn't on the level of Hop Stuff, Wicked Juicy, Orange Julian.

Carmela - Pretty decent Golden Belgian Strong. I admit to not being a fan of Belgian yeast, but it is in line with other Belgian Strongs I've had. The finish is that candy aftertaste that other Cellarmaker Belgian-esque brews (like Lost Wisdom) have. Admittedly, I don't like that aftertaste, but overall the beer was fine if you like the style.

Seconded on Lil Shredder not tasting like a session. I mean to be fair it's over 5% abv if I recall correctly, so it's not exactly in "session" territory as for as I'm concerned. Definitely drinks more like a pale. And a good one at that.

I wouldn't be surprised if there was no February bottling, considering all the beer and collabs they're doing for SF Beer Week. (3 w/The Rare Barrel, 1 w/Alvarado, 1 w/Trillium OtherHalf... although that last one may not be for beer week.)

Hmm you could be right. But I'd think it would be the perfect week for a bottle release. Plus one of those colabs would be pretty sweet in a bottle.

They are also doing a concert at Amnesia. Probably too much going on to worry about stuffing bottles all day

Wide Rainbows on tap again. I may have to seriously reroute my Napa weekend trip from Socal.

Here now. Have had Wide Rainbows, Hoppiness is Fleeting (both hazy IPAs) and Tiny Dankster. Wide Rainbows is the winner w/ Hoppiness is Fleeting and Tiny Dankster a close 2nd. Tiny Dankster is like a more fruiter Nelson. I wished Cellarmaker would make a Nelson clone. They'd kill it.

Don't miss the next time they brew Hop Slangin'! Their first ever IPA is also pretty much as close as you'll get to a Nelson clone. Rye malt and nelson for days.

Tried Gracious Days today. It's the best parts of a West Coast IPA, but with the tropical fruit profile of new school hops. That may be my favorite WC beer they make aside from Are You Afraid of the Dank. Not as memorable, but super drinkable and delicious.

But of their current taplist, I like Tiny Dankster the most.

    Can't wait for their sold-out Metal/Beer concert.

    Danker's Team
    Cali Common / 6.4 ABV / 53 IBU
Brewed with Jeff Erway of La Cumbre Brewing in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Strong Cali common hopped highly with Nelson, Merridian, Simcoe & XJA436.

A Cali Common brew named Dankers Team huh. Say it out loud and you'll get it.

This is not your Anchor Steam.

Instead, this is the haziest, murkiest beer Cellarmaker has ever brewed! It's more hoppy/fruity/juicy than their Pales and IPAs... with a little bit of a different base due to the lager yeast. It wasn't quite what I was expecting given the style, but I'm pretty blown away. Among the best 5 beers I've had from them.

    Thanks Cellarmaker and La Cumbre!
