Hop Slam sixers are at Wine Source in Hampden for 19/sixer, which I guess is reasonable these days. Limit two per customer so they should be around through tonight.

Still a couple cases of Diamondback Green Machine with Vic Secret in the coolers at Shawan Liquors. Had to ask for it.

Hopslam was 16.99 at Hunt Valley Liquors with no limit on Monday so it may be gone already.

Disappointing but not wholly unexpected. Their QC seems to be a mess. I swore off buying their stuff after the off batch of Bon Bon and two infected bottles of BA Heavy Boots, and I emailed them to express my frustration. They responded quickly and offered to replace the bad beers I bought, and I just got the shipment. I'll let you know how the SSMS turns out.

Since you brought it up, I was following the discussion on BA Heavy Booty a few months back, and finally got to try a bottle recently. I don't think the beer is infected, in fact I thought it was great, but I think we were drinking the same beer and I understand why people think that. It definitely has a cherry aroma and the beer is very different from a typical "BA stout". If I opened it expecting bourbon, vanilla, etc., I would have been shocked and thought something had gone wrong. I think though after reading the discussion and Singlecut's response, I was ready for something different. And the beer is different indeed, but I think its what they brewers intended and knowing that, I really thought it was excellent.

I had the same experience as beernuts with BA Heavy Boots. I really enjoyed it, cherry aroma and all.

Oh no, this is tragic news! I haven't opened any yet, but was planning to do so this weekend. I'll report back. The can of Harry Doesn't Mind I had last night was great though, and incredibly fresh-tasting. Almost too green.

Are there any releases or fests or tasting going on in the next couple of weeks? I'm bored.

Price check? They were $26+ at WFP the other day, and (after cracking it last night) it's good but not worth anywhere near that much. $15-20 would be fair, as it's not much better/different than regs Abyss.

Rodmans had them too, and I think they were $27or 28 there. I passed on them so not 100% sure.

Ah damn, that's a shame to hear. I thought the Scotch BA Abyss was incredible, so I was hoping the Brandy might be on the same level. I would totally pay $26+ for another bottle of the Scotch . . . if I could find another bottle.

Just cracked a Harry Doesn't Mind can and it's perfectly carbed, pillowly mouthfeel. Excellent beer.

Will try another SSMS can later.

High westified was also at WFP earlier, not sure if on the shelf now.
Around $15, high compared to other parts of the country, but overall a good deal for the actual quality.
