    I can see what you're saying, but for me I found the smoky flavor offputting because of the style of beer - I had their Helles lager and I just didn't like the smoke in it. Whereas the peat in a scotch barrel aged scotch ale works ...

    I saw it on Jester King's bottle list and feel certain I've not seen it here in Texas before ... either way, I'm getting some tomorrow.

    Now I have a place to share :stuck_out_tongue: (and I may do a back-to-back with Salvator, my personal favorite dopplebock, all due respect to the great Celebrator:sunglasses:)

    Hey, I'm always down to try a new beer or a whole brewery's line :slight_smile: If I see Eiche and/or Fastenbier, I'll pick it up!

    I've had Andechs Dunkelweizen too - it was pretty good, but the Doppelbock was better.

    Good to know ... thanks a bunch!

    Jester King had just two Andechs brews in stock -- the doppelbock and a hefeweizen. I'm not sure if I can find Andechs in Houston, but I'll look around next time I head that way and definitely look for that dunkelweizen. I love that style.

    Holy cow! I want BOTH of those right now!!

    I had dental implant surgery yesterday, so I'm still about 24-30 hours away from being able to drink a beer. I may stare at these photos and drool until then. :stuck_out_tongue:

    I absolutely love Troegenator and have a 16 oz can ready for later today, however as long as this site lists Samichlaus Helles/Classic as dopplebocks then I'm picking them every single time . Since I drink all three of them so frequently I'm going to choose at least three new ones to have available for this taste test . Four months ago I never even realized that a dopplebock was one of my favorite styles :wink:

    Just picked up Celebrator, Paulaner Salvator, and Troegenator for next weekend. I love me some Troegenator, and I haven't had the other two yet. Really looking forward to trying them out.
