Other Half Brewing January 2017!

Its their anniversary so its something "special". Thats all. For me it wasnt the anniversary beer that got me in line at 9am, it was the collaboration.

 

The ABV for the 3rd Anniversary needs to be put on the back of a milk carton. Nowhere to be found.

 

So how long was the line at 9am?? I haven't been there so idk how long halfway up Garnet means!

200-250 people I would guess at half way on Garnett.

 

Bunch of the anny left. As previously mentioned the collab is sold out. No line. F aint running per usual.

No F, shit. That is such a haul from Queens on the trains but at least I could stay on one. Otherwise I'm taking 3 diff ones. Not cool NYC MTA

 

Coming from someone who has shunned the line for a good while now, and been an 11:30 striker, I decided to wait it out today. 2nd Anny was their best beer ever IMO and 1st Anny is still top 5 OH for me, so had to assume they would do 3rd Anny right. And goddamn they did. For a 10% beer, it is unreal (any abv for that matter). I get no heat at all, so unlike BUTS and AGE which I think were very hot, it is just a hop explosion and really approachable. I'd have this over DDH Mylar/ACE/SD/DMD any day, and all four of those are great.

Worth the wait? Yes. Needed to wait? No. I chose to wait because I knew there would be a consistent line, but I would rather be home before 11:30.

Added bonus, Nummy Nug Nug is damn good too.

 

Perhaps a victim of miscommunication, as it seems odd; no kegs of collab. but will be doing another release next week

 

if im there by 4 will i get some 3rd anniversary cans?

 

Got there at 920ish and was out at 1110.

 

2 of my 3rd anny cans leaked from the bottom in my car. Not too pleased about that.

Nummy is tasting really good.

Just wanted to say that this release was handled well. Walked in at nearly noon and waited 10 minutes for cans. Sounds like I missed out on something special with Nummy, but I have too much beer as it is. Here's to another great year, OH.

 

Got a 4-pack of unlabled 3rd Anni cans. Anything special about the unlabeled cans? Is unlabled the new pink?

Still cans as of 1815. A bit chaotic as they're being sold at taproom bar now along with drafts / growlers.

 

I was on the fence about dealing with the hassle for this one since I don't usually enjoy 10%+ beers (they seem to change the mission of the day after drinking them), but man, this 3rd anniversary is just killer. No heat, super smooth, super juicy. These guys are killing it.

 

I was there close to closing tonight and the bartenders said there were still at least 100 cases or so left.

 

So it's sounding like they didn't sell out yesterday and there may be some available at opening today? Interesting. Very interesting.
