That was my impression when I had it at Kneitinger in Regensburg.

Erdinger Urweisse is world's better than the regular Hefeweizen.
Sort of a slimmed down version of Schneider's Tap7

Hmmm, not sure I've seen that in our parts. I do like to support the independent brewers as much as possible, will grab a bottle if I see it. Andechs is currently is my hefeweizen of choice.

    Thanks for heads up!

That's textbook Tmavy Lezak, I used to love Dunkel beers till I got hooked on these, I believe you hit it dead on though, darker and more roasted malt than a Dunkel, but less than a Schwarzbier, if you get the chance 2 other great examples of this are the U Fleku and the Kout na Sumave 14. Or you can do what I do and just brew your own Tmavy Lezak to save the drive to the Czech Republic every few months. This reminds me of my favorite question in Evan Rails book The Brewery in the Bohemian Forest where Evan asks Mr. Hlavsa what makes his Tmavy Lezak different from a Schwarzbier or a Dunkel and he states "Well, I've never had a Schwarzbier or a Dunkel"

I regularly homebrew a Tmavý Ležák as well. It is an intriguing beer style for me.

    Cheers!

I had that at the brewery in 2013. I thought it was one of the best beers I've ever had.

    Is this the beer? http://www.bernard.cz/en/beer/assortment/bottled-beer/3.shtml

I was surprised at the large portfolio of beers that Bernard produces; even an IPA.

Are these beers exported to Britain? How many brands do you get?

To the best of my knowledge these beers are not exported to the US?

    Cheers!

thats the one yep. their dark and light get brought over here in kegs by an importer who i think just sells to pubs so we do see it around, especially in the north. i have a really good source for czech beers as well though premiumczechbeers.co.uk its a small company run by one guy based in glasgow, he personally imports a decent selection of czech beers and delivers to individual customers like me once a month, this month hed had some bernard shipped over amongst other goodies

Anyone know if the Erdinger Urweisse makes it stateside? I'm at least curious after checking our their website.
I don't mind their beers. There's nothing wrong with them, although their yeast has to be the most dialed-back weissbier yeast I've ever had. It probably has fewer esters than the Duesseldorf weizens. At the same time, that doesn't seem to be by accident. People who don't like the weissbier styles can probably still enjoy theirs.

Nice, but who will drink the Secco?
btw, I hate it when german winemakers call their lower quality Sekts "secco"....

that is the sole reason my wife bought 3 of those kegs; one Pils, one Wiezen and the one we tapped.
