    My favorite "North" American stout under 7% clocks in at 6.5%.

    Prob Sierra Nevada Stout. I really enjoyed Stone's Coffee Milk Stout this year and thought it was quite flavorful for the modest abv

    These would be my choices before even reading the rest of the thread, aside from Heart of Darkness which was easily one of the best Magic Hat beers ever made. So sad I haven't seen it in years. Cheers for your great taste!

    OP was looking for American stouts, for some reason. I have to say that Sams Organic Chocolate is one of the best smelling beers ever. I defy a blindfolded person to identify the smell as a beer, or anything short of cocoa.

    Check this one out if your in the area, and if it's still available. Had it back in 09 (Growler) very fresh, very tasty, at that time, best I've had. I would definitely like to try it again, as well.:slight_smile:

    I believe they discontinued it, which is honestly absurd. Most of Magic Hat's lineup is pedestrian as can be, but Heart of Darkness was a lovely, wonderful beer. Shame.

    Do you know if it's available across the border in New York? From your other posts I've seen from you, seems like you shop in NY here and there. That Pike sounds great, and it's a style I wish I saw more often.

    The only place I see it is at Total Wine, which I don't think is in NY, unfortunately.

    I don't believe it is, due to the laws in NY against selling beer and liquor/wine in the same store.
