ssteigerwald, No, I am not insulting you what so ever. Sorry you and your "beer hunters report" take it that way! You seem to harp on one beer that does not meet your expectations out of 33 rare beers that are available. I am sorry that I am not from Colorado and have not had the chance to be spoiled by a lot of great beers like you have. Hopefully we can meet up at the event and you can enjoy a Jester King while I enjoy an Odell's. Nothing else to say. Okay?

C'mon man... You guys had a disagreement about beer ON THE INTERNET. Rather than vaguely threatening him you guys should find each other and have a beer together!

If you know of a CO store with UJ still on the shelf, I'd be happy to listen...

You just say that because it was released in April and it's now October. I'm just saying it was on the shelves for over a month,it was even distributed to CA. I could say the same thing in April and ask where to find Odell Deconstruction. I was merely making an observation that the Avery beers were just as well distributed as Odell Deconstruction. Deconstruction though is an interesting beer, yes they've only brewed it twice and it was 2-years ago when they brewed the last batch and may never brew it again. In fact I might have to pick up another bottle after thinking about it.

All that said, they're all awesome beers and would always welcome chances to taste UJ, Oud Floris & Deconstruction, they are some of the finest beers made in CO, I consider ourselves lucky that we get UJ & Rumpkin on the shelf 2-3 weeks after the brewery release.

meh. The fact is, I tried to get this thread back on topic...look back a few posts. Unfortunately, this guy not-so-vaguely insulted me, twice, and I let my anger get the best of me. My bad? Maybe...but I won't apologize for it. I'm done with feeding the trolls, so troll on y'all.

I have some good news that I think will be well received by fellow Beer Advocates.

The buzz on this forum about a couple of the beers that will be poured at the Denver Rare Beer Tasting IV has been heard. While most of us outside of Colorado (and some inside) would consider Odell Deconstruction and Avery Uncle Jacob's and Oud Floris to be rare beers, the breweries want to leave no doubt about how committed they are to the event and the cause. These folks have true integrity and are each adding a beer to what they will be pouring. That's what I call stepping up to the plate.

This is a win-win. Everyone still gets to taste the originally scheduled beers, plus our beer count now goes up to 37 with the addition of these brews:

Odell Funky Wooden Myrcenary, a barrel aged version of their superb double IPA.

Avery Odio Equum, a barrel aged sour with raspberries that has not yet been released to the general public.

We appreciate the support for Pints for Prostates that has been displayed by Beer Advocates on this forum. It is kind of amazing that our small tasting in the midst of what is the flood of beer during and surrounding the Great American Beer Festival has attracted so much passion. And we cannot thank the people at Odell and Avery, along with the 30 other breweries, enough for supporting this event by donating such amazing beers.

Stay calm. Keep your elbows down. And bring a sense of humor and your love of beer to the Wynkoop on Oct. 12. We are looking forward to a fun tasting and reaching men through the universal language of beer.

Entirely unnecessary, but well appreciated. I'm excited for both of these beers.
