With their current batch size, I think Saturday AM could result in longer lines/waits and smaller allocations, like 2 cans pp. Once they can make a lot more beer then I would hope they do more than 1 can release day per week. Maybe keep Thursday and then do Saturday as well.

That's not a good trifecta. I'm out of town but I would be skipping this one. Thats not to say I would certainly buy a 6er of one of those in conjunction with regular IPA/DIPA offerings.

Melvin at CK may be tough to swallow, but the lineup of beers they have is pretty awesome and from talking to one of the brewers who said they are "bringing a LOT of beer" I don't expect them to kick quickly.

Meridian Pint is doing the Firestone event.

You're several months late on this one. There are already out of code cans clogging up coolers around here. Hope you do not encounter this issue!

From what I observed and what I perceived from attending last week's Aslin release, I think that the Thursday releases are the best course of action given their current situation. With neighbors complaining, the Thursday release probably creates the least amount of chaos (there's still chaos). A Saturday release with lower limits could result in more people there and clogged parking lots. Hopefully a move to a bigger facility and a bigger system (I know they just upgraded their brewhouse) will happen soon. I think Aslin is trying hard to be accommodating (they've improved their packaging to cans), but the demand is far outweighing their production. It's easy to say brew more beer, but it's the how given their current constraints that's harder to explain. I think that they're making the most out of a situation that could be better. At least they're cranking out awesome IPAs (I'm giving them my stamp of approval as a guy with access to some great NEIPAs).

Their situation feels somewhat similar to what Treehouse has had to deal with. You do your best, but you can't win with everyone.

Sorry, ignore me. I was referring to Raja, not Maharaja. Actually didn't realize there was a difference.

Exactly, when your model is selling everything you are making basically at opening, you're not doing "bad customer service" by not holding product people want to buy Thursday, to accommodate people who can't get there til Saturday. If you can't get there, you can easily IP 'something' you have for some Aslin cans, most are not that highly sought after.

Plus with this setup they can spend at least part of their weekends with their families. Why make more headache on Saturday. I also like Thursday because it keeps things 'reasonable.' So many gov't employees (and others) can tele-commute on Friday (or just leave work early) so I think the amount of people in line would only be higher on Friday.

That is a good lineup. And the best part is I don't have to take time off work to have some.

What about us who telecommute on Thursday but work 1 mile away from Aslin on the other days???? WHAT ABOUT US?

I absolutely can't knock it from a work standpoint on their end. Why work later hours when you don't have to!

They also have made a good number of accommodations for their customers-cans instead of bottles etc. My hope is simply that in the future, with expansion, they make their cans more accessible to the people in the area who were there from the beginning with them and not just the few that can bend
    their work schedule.

I can't believe you savages bought out all the Ocelot Talking Backwards bottles within a couple of hours. That'll teach me to have meetings during the day.

My hope is that they just get back to serving in-house pours sooner than later, so that I can enjoy their beer again without having to worry about getting in a line.

I was talking with some of the guys at Ocelot prior to the release, they were thinking they would have bottles around for 2 weeks or so....then in 2 hours or so they were gone. Crazy, but good for them I guess.

Hi, sorry if this isn't the right thread for this: I just moved to Arlington and missed The Abyss release both in CA and here. Has anyone seen bottles of regular Abyss on the shelves in NoVA or DC? Thanks!
