To help find their beer, outside their brewery (they have their own tap room, where you can buy, drink, and fill growlers), use the following link:

    http://cartonbrewing.com/find-our-beer/

    More info from their website

    http://cartonbrewing.com/

Tasting room availability is posted on Facebook on Wednesday and Saturday before the sessions begin.

Special releases: When there are new cans we set up a table downstairs for efficiency, but outside of those first couple days they are upstairs in the tap room, which is staffed by really nice people.

So I'm going up to Warwick, NY on my day off to pick up some Hopslam since my area sold out, and I noticed that Eddie's Roadhouse has a ton of Carton on draft including both irregular coffee releases.

It's kind of sad how excited I am now to go to lunch since I missed out on the irregular coffee release. They even have Apricot Rebus for the missus.

If you are up that way, think about hitting up Rushing Duck. DBZ cans are being released today.

so if you are coming to EBF this is coming with us...

...we looked to have fun with all five tastes: Bitter, Salty, Sweet, Sour, and Umami, and of course to do so with something simple, classic and unique to our region. We looked at the archetypal pastrami sandwich, on rye, with a kosher pickle.

Not necessarily a beer that tastes exactly like a pastrami on rye with a pickle — that would be cool, but then why not just have the sandwich? — rather a beer that tastes like a beer while evoking the aspects that make that sandwich combination exceptional...

The beer sounds great hopefully it will make an appearance at the brewery so I can try it.
but you just made me so hungry for a pastrami sandwich.

While I reserve judgement til I try the beer (hopefully a keg stayed home, because I'm missing EBF) I appreciate that you guys attempt to bring a real "Extreme" beer. Everyone just brings whatever 3 fresh IPAs they have.

Sounds delicious. I love the fact that you guys consistently push the envelope of what beer can be and are not afraid of the end results. There are too many complacent breweries these days that are happy pushing out 2 or 3 popular styles of beer and won't go any further than that. The "pioneer" mentality Carton has when it comes to brewing really reminds me of the reason why I fell in love with craft/microbrewing years ago.

Keep taking risks! We love it.

Intrigued by that beer and hope it sneaks its head up in the taproom eventually

Don't like pastrami sandwiches or rye bread, but looking forward to trying this beer nonetheless. Interesting

    What?
This just might be the craziest thing I have heard someone say on here.

Just watched the video. Can't stand mustard either and not big on dill pickles. In before this is my favorite beer of 2017. Who knows?

Funny to see so many praising/saying how interesting a pastrami sandwich beer seems from Carton. Always seemed like everyone would pile on Dogfish Head for being too weird and gimmicky. I'd like to think it's because strange/out-there beers are being accepted more widely now.

You bring up an interesting topic of discussion. I happen to believe it's just a boring double standard being applied.

to be clear this beer does not want to taste like a pastrami sandwich. its an effort to study all 5 flavors of the spectrum with a pastrami sandwich as a guide.

Not necessarily a beer that tastes exactly like a pastrami on rye with a pickle — that would be cool, but then why not just have the sandwich? — rather a beer that tastes like a beer while evoking the aspects that make that sandwich combination exceptional...

I heard you discussing this on the podcast and was intrigued. Any chance this'll be coming down with you to Hunaphu this year?

Eleven Madison Park used to serve an homage to the New York Deli (Katz's specifically, they said) that was a deconstructed pastrami sandwich. A small round of house-baked rye topped with tiny dollops of mustard and ramp relish served alongside their house-cured pastrami. There was a homemade soda to wash it down with (you kind of randomly received celery, strawberry or coffee flavored soda). I found it shocking how the sparseness of the ingredients and the minimalist approach to size served to amplify each of the components. If "Deli" does as good a job of blending all those flavors as that tiny little open-faced sandwich did, it'll be awesome.

Save a keg in case you're invited to EBF LA please.
