Never loved it to begin with, too sweet.

I liked it the first time I had it, I like it less each time. Won't buy it again

    Worse? No. Inconsistent? Definitely.

I feel like this batch is a nice middle-ground between other batches. Some were too dank/bitter, others too generically hoppy/sweet/bready. Just drank a can from today's release and I wasn't mad about it. Not their best beer, but still enjoyable.

To each their own I suppose, like I said it was the first beer that turned me on to them. But I like it less each time. However I think they are making other great beer so it's all good

Those two opinions might not be mutually exclusive.

Guttersnipe is awesome. Haven't had this batch of fade out of the can yet.

I'd agree with this though I think there's more to the story. While I've noticed some variance between batches since I first had it (May/June last year), the fact that their more recent stuff is just so much better (One, Infinity + One, Gutter, etc), it comparatively makes Jade seem almost "average" (for lack of a better word). I don't think Jade is getting noticeably worse, we're just measuring it relative to others that are simply better.

Nail on the head. This happens with all breweries. Human palate is amazing, once you have something better hard to go back to something else.

Drinking my second Guttersnipe now, super clean beer. I put this one behind Infinity + One, tied with Even Mo Mofo.

Did anyone see all the t-shirts piled on bar at brewery yesterday? I think they knew this would be a good one.

re: new batch of fade to jade...

I think this is as good if not better than previous batches. that said, fade to jade is old hat. to me this was sand city's first wow beer outside of the original core lineup where day drifter was stealing the show. mofo came on the scene and then changes the game for Sand city setting a new bar imo. the even mo, one, infintiy+one, and now guttersnipe...of course fade to jade doesn't taste as magical.

I just can't wait for sonder cans

I personally just think fade gets worse with each batch. I know people will disagree and that's obviously fine. Nothing to do with other beers being better, just think it's dropped significantly.

I am going to be in Northport next weekend (2/25-2/26) and was wondering how their can releases work? From reading through the thread, it doesn't seem like there is really a set release schedule and you basically just need to monitor social media. Is that right?

Also, any regulations on what growlers they will fill?

There is really no pattern or much advance notice. You could get a weekday release with a couple hours of notice, or usually a Sunday release with a day or two notice. The releases are not frequent though. They fill right out of tap with a hose so any growler should be fine.

Just had Guttersnipe. After 3 Sand City beers, I have to say, Even Mo' Mofo is definitely my favorite.

I usually make the Sunday releases but with the temps supposed to be near 60 and sunny, I don't think I can justify this one to the wife. It's definitely tempting, but I'm off this week and I'll probably hit Barrier on Thursday.
