Maybe it's not quite mid-market depending on how you define that, but I always enjoy the Michelob Amber Bock.

Well I know enough to know the continuity between 19th century know nothingism (yes I have read both Sean Wilentz and Daniel Howe on the era) and certain other things. If this only forces people to reflect on that, its worth it.

Dude. I have been voting with my dollars for BA defined craft beer for years. I believe in small. I believe in local. I believe who makes beer matters, not just the liquid. I have stood up for that belief on this forum many times. This is not the easiest thing for me. But it is important.

Thanks I read that. I think they realize that it is about an immigrant, and that it could be read the way I read it, and they had the guts to do it anyway (and immigration has been a hot topic for well over a year, BTW) And they did not have to include someone being hostile to Busch as an outsider.

More like Jan-Feb 2016. There's a article linked to a post in this thread that describes their process, etc.

You should email AB and tell them why you are buying their beer this super bowl time. Others might do the same... something might happen... or nothing happens, but nothing happpens when people do nothing.

Constellation gets most of that $$ if the beer came from the Nava Plant, if from other, then it was contract brewed for them by InBev, and InBev gets a small cut

Justhe checked the Budweiser FB post for the ad. Quite a few folks promising to switch to Miller or Coors. For once I am enjoying the responses from the gard core Bud fans.

We live in interesting times. Have a Bud. Resist.

Interesting! I'll admit to not knowing much about it.... just cruised through their website and picked something palatable:

Don't take this the wrong way. I'm certainly not trying to lecture you here, but I think it's important to remember some things here.

Your money makes a much bigger difference to smaller brewers. Voting for them with your dollars helps. Voting for/against ABI with your dollars is purely symbolic; no way will they ever notice the effect your patronage/lack of patronage has on their enormous bottom line. This is a perfect example of slacktivism; you'll not be able to make a significant difference toward immigration reform simply buying beer. Big change takes big work. I don't support ABI for many reasons, but I am aware that I'm really just doing it for me.

Bottom line, if you want to help support the cause of immigration, there really are better ways to do it: Voting, charities, protests, writing your congressmen, etc. I think @Ranbot idea of emailing ABI in support of the ad will make a much bigger impact than buying their beer ever would. You can support small brewing with your money, and support immigration/ABI (in this case) in other ways. Best of both worlds IMHO: you get to support local brewers and drink good beer, and you still make your voice heard for a cause you support.

Obviously, it's your money, your beer, and your voice. I'm just some guy on the internet. Do what you feel is right.

Fully agree with your post, there are far better ways to support a cause than by purchasing a company's product because they made a statement in support or in opposition of that cause. Especially a multibillion dollar corporation like ABI.

Are you sure? Because one could argue a company will always follow the money and if they see a financial effect (positively or negatively) by taking a particular stance on an issue they will certainly take that into consideration for the future. Money is the ultimate reward or punishment to a company for their actions. Morals and money are not necessarily mutually exclusive.

Yes, in a larger sense, you're right, but I was speaking literally. The amount of money that I, and I alone, choose spend or not spend with ABI makes no measurable difference to them. Obviously, if enough people stopped buying their products, they might notice and change course. In this case though, I wonder if they would even attribute the increase in revenue to people (OP) supporting them because of their Super Bowl ad.

There are people boycotting Budweiser because of the ad. If someone would like to make a purchase they wouldn't otherwise make in order to counteract that action, more power to them. Boycotts and support are only symbolic until they are not.

And i think you are being presumptuous in assuming that OP isn't also doing other more tangible things about the issues he cares about. This is a beer forum, so thankfully he's not talking about those things here.

Like I said, his money, his motive. But you're correct, I was definitely being presumptuous. The OP did not specify what he was/was not doing in addition to buying beer.

To answer the question in the OP would be tough for me. I honestly don't like any of the beers ABI makes/owns enough to buy them over anything else. Maybe just a case of regular old Budweiser if I felt compelled to support them.
