Chicagoland NE IPAs (2018)

So one of the ipas being realeased is not a NE style and one is. They posted that on one of their ig photos in response to someone asking about the style.

 

On the Sharks with Lazer Beams, I agree as well eifster82's assessment; filled crowlers 1/31 and drank one last night, undercarbed for sure but still very enjoyable

 

Your Wish Is Granted looked pretty similar to that picture - not identical, but really close. Excellent beer by the way!

I guess Hop Butcher's Instagram pictures are always just confusing for me. Remember they posted that photo of a very, very, hazy/turbid glass filled to the brim for "Your Wish Is Granted", which is actually a West Coast IPA and looks nothing like that pic, and then they posted that orange juice looking pic for two new upcoming IPAs where one will be NE style ("I want to believe") and one not ("Destination Moon"), but now the pic they posted tagged as I Want To Believe looks nothing like the orange juice looking pic from 3 days ago and is probably actually a pic of Destination Moon?

Has HB I Want To Believe gone out to distro?

 

Heard from a few Binnys employees right after the Reply Hazy release that Binnys Grand would no longer be receiving (accepting?) Hop Butcher stuff--can anyone confirm? Something to do with HB posting about dropping off cans at that location, angering that Binnys' staff.

 

If true, that's a shame! I was planning on walking over this afternoon to check it out. Eh, I'll just go anyway.

 

I can confirm this...I called and heard the same from the beer guy when that was coming out. Didn't get a reason why but I could tell he was annoyed about it.

No. For now, that was a one time deal. Anything available in MI will not see didtro to chicago.

 

Not saying it was one time only forever. Just for now.

If a beer is for sale at the taproom, it will not see distro in Illinois because of distro laws.

I think more than anything, we're just trying to head off the questions about "will this see distro in chicago?" every time Transient accounces a new batch of cans are for sale at the taproom.

 

I just don't understand this. Binny's is upset that another business is sending customers their way? Customers that in all likelihood would buy other products in addition to the one being touted. I get that social media posts create extra phone calls and that's annoying but they are in business to sell beer. HB is helping them. If I see HB is at Binny's Grand I'll go there and buy some plus some other beers I would have bought at one of their competitors later when I got home.
