    The guys at both Beer Temple and Capones told me it was a nice big New Year's Thank You to Illinois (since they were originally here). The beer was brewed in Illinois, not in Michigan (this I know for sure), which is why they could distribute it here (not positive on this).

    Yeah, this aligns exactly with what I'd heard at Grand (before Galaxy Bowl batch 1 hit). They were visibly frustrated with the lack of communication and distribution from HB.

    I knew the brewing portion (since it says "brewed at Aquanaut" on the can), the BT/Capone's insight is interesting.


    Hopefully we'll get a Valentine's Day or St. Paddy's day thank you as well! :wink:

    All good! just wanted to be sure you saw it.

    But then again, aren't we all to some degree? I feel like HB is really bad at the distro side of things - its so haphazard and spread out.

    Binnys can't have it both ways. They get all the greatest allotments from all the biggest breweries. Now they want the biggest allotments from all the tiny, grassroots, self distributing breweries as well? And they'll blacklist them if they don't get it?

    The arrogance of Binnys is unreal.

    The beauty is, small breweries like HB aren't beholdent to any 2nd tier corporate distribution chain. They can go where they please. There are plenty of craft focused stores in this city. It's not like grassroots craft beer is dependent on Binnys anymore. They don't need Binnys exposure anymore to make a living

    It had nothing to do with Binnys getting the biggest allotments? What we were talking about was just Binnys Grand - and their issue was that they weren't even getting an allotment for several of the recent releases. As for blacklisted? Not sure where you are getting that - its only Binny's Grand that isn't getting it and its just because they didn't place an order for this batch. Several of the other Binny's are getting allotments.

    You literally have no idea what you are talking about. This is only Binny's on Grand as stated above. The problem was they have placed several orders for HB's releases and they showed up weeks after they were due, or in most cases didn't show up at all. I've been told the communication with HB in general is awful. Why the hell would they keep placing orders with a brewery that blows them off again and again?

    I really don't understand the HB hype either. Other than GB, their beers have been average at best and thats only for the first week or two they are canned. The drop off after that is insane.

    If you go back and reread what I write, You see I never mentioned specific breweries. I never quoted anyone. It was intended to more of a blanket statement I guess.

    Was Cromulent from Transient NE style (hazy) the last times it was brewed? I thought I remembered it being clear, but I'm drinking the new batch now and it's super hazy. Delicious, but different from what I remember.
