Being a Philly sports fan - waiting for beer sounds exactly like tailgating.... especially if you haven't had the beer yet. You wait for hours and spend too much money excited for good things and in the end there is a good you will go away disappointed...

Good for them to discourage stupid behavior.

But I am surprised that they would actually publicly acknowledge being complicit in people drinking in the parking lot. My understanding of PA's liquor laws would be that SBC's license would only allow for consumption of beer that is purchased from them. Am I wrong here?

Risky, considering the PLCB has a history of over-reaction. Perhaps Sole doesn't remember armed State Troopers raiding hose Philly bars back in 2010 over what boiled down to be administrative paperwork issues.

My brother-in-law and I discussed this, and we're no lawyers or anything, but he said that since SBC is private property you're allowed to open container. I don't know how true that is but I just makes me think of bars or festivals where you're not allowed past a certain spot with alcohol. (eg outdoor seating area at a bar/restaurant)

What's funny though is that in the comments they worry about adopting an online ticketing system, like Vault, because they cite it as a "really big grey area" and "borderline criminal".

I suppose they could consider it as BYOB, which is legal by the PLCB as long as there are no local jurisdiction restrictions against it, and that PA tax was paid on said alcohol.

Which would probably rule out that can of Alchemist beer....

They could have gone to the Grey Lodge yesterday for Groundhog Day but nary a hazy fruit puree snowglobe beer was to be found.

Ah the Grey Lodge. Walk in there and you immediately get transported back to the beer scene of 2007.

cracked open a BuiceJox, they nailed the orange flavor, overall very enjoyable but I am getting a little bit of chalky aftertaste, like tang when you put too much powder

Sure, you're not going to find Tired Hands on draft but it's not like the taps are just Hop Devil and 60 Minute.

For anyone in the Lehigh Valley or Warren County area in NJ, Sole is looking for part time and full time bartenders at the new Freebridge taproom.

I haven't tried any of their beers since Clink and Green Life, so the move to Easton is kind of exciting seeing as how I'll now have access to great beer in PA. The Poconos has to be the worst region in the entire state in terms finding good beer. Shelf turds everywhere and the local breweries (Shawneecraft, Barely Creek) are average at best.

After slowly ratcheting the prices up over the past year, they have finally cracked the $20 mark. Oh, that's right, it's a collabo. Jeppe needs his share for pushing the start button on the BrauKon...
