On Tap in the Twin Cities - February Edition

Perrennial Abraxas and BA 1050 at Borough according to their website. Prices seem kind of steep ($10 and $12 respectively) - No idea about the size of the pour. I assume it is a 10 oz pour.

 

Should have posted when I first got here I guess but 2016 BA Silhouette is on at Busters. Also: Hopslam, Pompeii, 3 years of Commander, etc

 

Muddy Waters has a solid tap list going right now. I'm blanking on a number of the beers but for sure they have Big Bad Baptist, Baptista and Double Barrel Baptist.

 

Stopped at busters for lunch for a ba sil. It tastes like a non ba, but the menu and tap handle clearly say ba. Anyone else think the same or am I crazy? I've had quite a lot of ba silhouette on tap and in bottles and this one is a clear outlier.

 

Actually I totally agree. I had it last night and thought it was strangely different (read: less good) than my memory. I had just assumed my palette was off.

 

Was there last night also. Definitely NOT BA Silhouette.

 

Second and third. Shit isn't BA Sil at busters.

 

Anyone call and confirm? Seems a little bs that everyone paid for BA and got reg if there's such a drastic difference.

 

I was there with @SlightlyGrey last night. We argued it over with the bartender that insisted it was and that employees of Lift Bridge were there earlier drinking it. In the end he credited one off of our tab, so at least we got it for half price. As soon as I got home I emailed Lift Bridge with what happened, haven't heard anything back yet.

 

That's messed up! There is no confusing this years BA with non-ba.

 

Having had this year's BA and non-BA, I'm positive any BA could distinguish a BA Silhouette from non-BA, or I'm no BA.

That's all I see in this thread, but that's also how I feel!

 

You ever hear anything back from LB? Just curious because there's a few social media outlets promoting it there and hopefully we could help prevent others from getting ripped off if it's not what's being advertised.

 

It was only like a $2 difference from "BA Silhouette" to Warden milk stout so I didn't feel totally ripped off but I was pretty bummed that I drove there from St Paul to have one. I was debating going to the source and getting a glass there but decided to hit Buster's to have a burger. That sucks the bartender wanted to argue about it vs just going down and checking the keg. I'm sure it must have just been regular silhouette and they grabbed the wrong keg by mistake so not really a huge deal, IMO, but if they're not gonna own up to it and correct their mistake that makes it a lot worse.

I don't think you need to specify non-BA. If BAA showed up on tap in the Twin Cities, it would be like the CBS releases where they start the tap and literally keep it going until it runs out.

 

Whole bunch of good stuff on at NewBohemia west 7th. I had jolly Russian and insight scotch gravity well. Also saw 2016 darkness, 2016 bcbs

 

Haha, just wanted to be sure I wasn't throwing anyone for a loop! Chaos would indeed ensue if we ever got BA and I would be right there in the middle of it.
