Up next is a little taste of the Berliner Weisse that I put into a keg on Saturday night. It still needs some more time to properly carbonate, but this is tasting good. It may end up turning out a little bit more sour then the last batch, but the carbonation is starting to help the hops make a little bit more of a presence. Another few days on the gas should pull this completely together into something really tasty.

You have no idea how relieved I am that this batch is turning out well. I use a sour mash which can be a complete crap shoot since I have no idea as to exactly what kind of yeast and bacteria are on the outside of the raw grain I use to sour the beer.

Yup, just moved from Philly but still keep in touch with a VT trader. Gotta do whatever it takes to quench the HF cravings!

It's still not exactly puckering, but there is a good amount of tartness that will make you say "yep, that's a Berliner Weisse"

Now I'm using the wonderful pain killing effects if alcohol to help me stretch some new climbing shoes. Any BA's out there who are climbers know exactly how this feels right now.

How is Laird's? I really want to try it.

EDIT: Oh, it was right there in the post. Have you tried Calvados? So smooth straight up I think.

Went out to celebrate a friend's girlfriend's birthday. I had a Great Divide Yeti and an Ommegang Hennepin (both on tap), and like 3 waters to balance out the beer since I had to drive home. Unexpected outing, and it was great.

Posting from the past: I was working on this the other night and close to posting it when I spilled some Buffalo Trace into this computer and onto the motherboard (elbowed glass off of desk when turning around from the TV), stupid "gaming" case (yes blame it on the computer). Spent the weekend blow drying and cleaning all of the parts off. Definitely not gonna be able to use that 4th memory slot. Threw this pic together quickly tonight, hopefully there are some Ommegang Witte fans out there, it was a nice beer for sure. This also might be up there in my top 3 favorite glasses now, sturdy and awesome design.

As for now, I think I will open up a Founders Breakfast Stout or Sierra Nevada Pale Ale.
