I think people just naturally extrapolate "all TG stuff" from "Illinois will be getting these specific beers for now."

The interesting thing to me is that they don't even distribute their special bombers to all the places in their Wisconsin distro, yet. I asked a guy at a store I go to in WI if they ever get in PS bombers, and he wasn't even aware they existed (this places gets all the cans + 1492 and King Sue, as far as I can tell). TG distribution is pretty convoluted still, he says.

Per recent Facebook posts we can look forward to Super Special Sauce (Mosaic; dbl dry hopped) once Mike can start brewing in EG and there may be JiL cans available on Wednesday at Transient during the filming of some show.

Here's the link, for those interested:

Hope it hits distro; mosaic was my favorite SS, so I bet this one will be a monster.

Noonwhistle funny gummy is freaking legit. It has the dry finish and Hop bite that so many others don't have. Definitely looking forward to the new one now. If they ever canned this stuff, it would fly off shelves.

I agree, just grabbed 2 crowlers myself today! Haven't stopped there in awhile but looks like it will be 2 visits this week.

Drinking it now. It's fantastic, but there is an unpleasant bitter aftertaste I'm not a fan of.

Somehow the very best (Trilium, TH, Other Half, Flightless-yes it's that good) are able to have a sweet aftertaste, even with a super hoppy bite.

Looking forward to Vortex this week. I will for sure be making a visit to the parents house in the burbs in the next week or so.

Had the opportunity to try TH: Alter Ego, Trillium: Vicinity, and Forbidden Root: Jacob Goes to Juice Town last evening. I have to say JGTJT is on par with the other "real" NE IPAs. Although Vicinity took the top honors in my opinion, there was just a small margin when rating between each. So much good stuff coming out of Chicagoland!

Scored a can from a friend. Nothing about this beer is NE Style - look (obviously), smell, feel, or taste are not to the style at all. That being said, it's a pretty good brew! If anybody had Thread The Needle from the 18th Street In The Shadows series, it's very similar in my opinion.

Another solid brew coming from the Chicago area! Who needs New England brews with the shear amount pouring out from all directions now!

Loved Funny Gummy! It only took one sip for me to decide I was taking home multiple crowlers of it. Just as good out of the can as it was on tap and I can't wait for the new one on Tuesday

Did they can the wrong beer?? It says NE style on the can, right?? Thats just so odd.

Seriously. The picture that The Open Bottle posted made it look like they made 2 batches of Destination Moon and just put that beer in both cans. It makes me wonder if something went awry during the brewing process

Or maybe they realized that in Chicago these days all you need to do is put NE Style on the can & it will sell out immediately, seemingly regardless of what's inside....

I grabbed a 4-pack of IWTB because I'm a huge X-Files fan and was low on hoppy beers, and I agree with the initial consensus that this really isn't an NE style beer. I'm going to come back to it tonight and see if it magically changes, but aside from a very slightly above average feel, it's a pretty standard IPA (although also very tasty). Not only is the look completely wrong for the style, but it's so different from Reply Hazy and Galaxy Bowl that I'm really curious to hear the background behind this beer.

For real - I would definitely like to know what happened to this beer:

If that is what is actually in those cans, something weird his going on (bad X-Files/alien pun)

The interesting thing is that that post doesn't specifically call out a beer (it mentions the hops used in both current IPAs). HB claimed that one would be hazy, one wouldn't.

So the question is, what happened to the haze? I'm not unhappy about the beer in these cans, but it's kind of questionable that the cans say "New England Style" on them.

You're right, the IG post that picture was from listed the hops in both I Want to Believe, and Destination Moon. I just figured that the former was listed as a "New England Style DIPA", so that had to be the beer in the picture. If it is the same beer, something drastic had to happen in a very short amount of time for it to change so much. It's just weird.

No, I agree. I, too, assumed we were looking at IWTB. I mean, "one is hazy, the other isn't," and yet the NE-style one isn't hazy? Pretty strange. I wonder if HB got word about people complaining about a "Belgian" taste to their NE stuff, and this is what happens when they attempt to switch it up.

    Just baseless conjecture, obviously.

Both Hop Butchers were drainpours for me. I think they're suddenly incapable of brewing a good hoppy beer. I'm hoping the coffee stout is up to last year's standard but I'll be sitting out anything hoppy from them.

I don't know. It's not the first time a picture posted on their IG didn't seem to match up with how the beer actually looks in person.
I assumed this was a pic of Your Wish Is Granted, which it definitely also doesn't look anything like that, yet the caption says "Your Wish Is Granted" .......
