Bottles at $10 each comes out to 45 cents per ounce whereas they typically sell 12oz pours of dipas for $7 or 58 cents per ounce...So they profit less on bottles...

I was talking about max profits for me

This will sell out before 3p just like the City Beer collab last year. But cross your fingers I can make it.

Oh yea in that case I agree. Let's hope it lasts a little while into the afternoon but we all know how people get when they see Cellarmaker, Other Half, AND Trillium on a label!

"Southern Dobis" does sound enticing though.. Love a great pale from these guys given that it means I can drink a lot more of em

Also. When they say a beer like Southern Dobis is going to be released on Wednesday, that's just the day they'll tap it not the only day they'll tap it right? (asking anyone). In other words as per usual a hoppy beer will last a week or so despite the beer week implications.

For their 3rd Anniversary week, they had some specialty beers that were only available for 1 day (Barrel Aged Lost Wisdom, Flesh Tones 2, Hop Slangin' w/Equinox Fresh Hops, etc.). But they also tapped some things that lasted for the week. But Southern Dobis has a star, which denotes a growler fill. That should last for a few days at least.

Do you guys think Cellarmaker will have branded growlers available during Beer Week? I'm in from out out-of-town next weekend and would love to pick up some beer to-go, but won't have my own growlers with me. Wondering if people are expecting they'll sell out quickly given the craziness of Beer Week.

Cellarmaker is really good about filling blanks in 750ml, 1L or 2L sizes. You could pick one up from a local shop or a different brewery if needed, or if it's next week you could probably Amazon ship yourself some glass to your hotel.

I'll be in town from Boston next week. Stop by Cellarmaker everytime I'm there but never been to a bottle release. How nuts will next Thursday be? Bottles usually last hours? Can anyone compare to Tree House and/or Other Half?

I would just do an IP trade to save yourself some time if I were you.

CM bottle releases have been getting more and more traction since December. It used to be pretty casual, and I used to hang around for a few hours afterwards drinking their tap selections.

But now the line stretches down the block, and earlier. For the OH/Trillium collab, I expect it to be its worst. I have to go, cuz I'm team Cellarmaker. But really not looking forward to it.

Can't compare because I've only heard but never been, but I assure you it won't sell out in front of you and you won't have to wait in line hours in advance. This will come out during work hours, in an area with no parking, in the rain. I bet if you showed up at 2-3pm, you'd have to wait ~30 minutes in a line. Around 4pm, it would either be gone or you could grab bottles with no wait. (this is just based on my experience of the last 8 or so releases, 2 of which were Double Dobis)

I'm worried about this release... My typical plan is to get there around opening, and having a short line. I may have to step this one up a bit... :slight_frown:

Im coming loaded with trades just in case...driving from Napa ca and taking off work. I've done quite a few and I expect this to be the biggest turnout.

I was in the middle of work, so I couldn't try everything I wanted but here's what I had yesterday:

Flesh Tones #3 - This is the best sour beer I've had from them. On their 3rd Anniversary, FT2 was good, and Batch 200 w/Saaz was even better. But #3 has tons of nectarines thrown into it and works better than the cherries IMO. That nectarine particularly comes through on the nose, but you can taste it in the finish as well. Fruity, funky, oaky and a slight tartness. I wish they would have this all the time.

Mocha & Cigarettes - They say they made it with less coffee in order to allow the cocoa nibs and vanilla to shine, but I would say all three of those components are too subdued. Maybe I got used to the bold flavors of Imperial C&C, but I kinda found this to be ordinary.

Bourbon Barrel Vanilla Vastness of Space - I loved BBVoS. But I feel like this one was released too early. It's really hot right now, with bourbon booziness really dominating the palate. A few weeks (or months?) would really help it to meld together quite nicely.

Also tried When Doves Cryo, but since it's not brewed by them, I only commented about it in the Alvarado thread

Flesh Tones #3 was ridiculously good. Wish they had it in bottles.

Looks like the regular 6/person at $10.

I'm expecting this to last at least till 5pm... hopefully...
