What beer are you drinking now? #1571

Boom Sauce at The Union Diner.

 

First time trying since they brough these to RateBeer festival. But I know this is not ideal:

- Over a month old
- Canned ones brewed in FL, not in IA

That being said... this is decidedly old school in West Coastiness. It's brewed with Citra, but somehow it doesn't have the tropical notes of modern day beers, and has a bitter bite with the crackery malt finish, which was the part I enjoyed. It hits above its 5.8% ABV in terms of flavor punch. It's just that the flavor profile isn't up to snuff to my more modern day tastebuds.

(I do still like WC hoppy beers, but I'm pretty picky since there's so many of them. My favorite is Cellarmaker's Are You Afraid of the Dank if that means anything to the 1% of you )

 

BOOM! They don't give you a full pour at that place, do they?

A Löwenbräu LöwenWeisse Hefe-Weissbier. Not preparing a healthy dinner tonight, had too much to eat already today.

As a little snack I'll try these 'bierbommetjes' (translates to small or tiny beer bombs, but it's smalls sausages). Probably will regret this, but who knows; 'bier' and 'nice and spicy' is printed on it

A much needed beer after waiting the rain out for a very soggy late morning run. I wanted to take advantage of another balmy 50 degree February day that produced a couple of thunderstorms last night. Crazy shit! This seemed like a good choice for such a day. A very easy drinker with mild tangerine flavor that doesn't taste artificial. I like it and the $5.49 bomber price! Cheers gang....

 

In a nearly clean glass! There may be hope for them yet.

 

Tonewood Bourbon BA Porter
I opened this a while ago but never posted. Really solid initial BA offering from this new local brewery. Decent barrel and spirit notes integrated into the base without becoming a complete bourbon bomb.

 

Please....let us emphasize the word "nearly" loosely...

Enjoying this juicy One T!!
It has evolved into slightly more rounded flavors. Some of the hoppiness had faded and the brett flavors are poking head in a good way.
I was expecting more tart flavor but surprisingly its not. Really pleased with this Allagash offering.
