I get it. I grabbed some Goose Island Four Star Pils for the game. I did so because I am a "theme drinker" (probably to a fault). I think the Super Bowl is all about fizzy yellow lagers and mass marketed beer, but I wanted something more flavorful and enjoyable (and new for NBS). I will likely end the night with a '16 BCBS (we'll see how many of the aforementioned 6pk I put down, and what kind of food coma I end up in) because this is very much a holiday for me and the occasion (and theme :sunglasses:) seem to fit.

If you don't want an AAL in winter time yet you want to buy something more accessible for your Superbowl party, buy whatever beer you want in the style you want, with a possible slant towards catering accessibility. Buy a porter or oatmeal stout, or brown ale, or pale ale, or what have you.

BTW, purchasing a beer other than Bud or Bud Light isn't going to register or show up on the books as having any connection to the ad, regardless of when or why that commercial was produced. E.g. Buying DBB beer will be seen as an indicator of the correctness of ABI's decision to purchase DBB, not as an indicator of the success of the theme or idea behind a commercial for Bud.

It's good to know that InBev has found a way to draw the hipsters back in. :astonished:

That thought occurred to me. I suspect though they may be aware that at least some of the pushback against the folks boycotting Bud will take the form of purchases of DBB, etc. I did end up buying GI 312, and GI Green Line. I happened to also share a Bass Ale with a friend the day before, which was not purchased for the same reason, but still fit the theme for me. I felt pretty good about what I did (and also trolling the boycotters on the Bud FB page) And it is correct, I am taking other steps in support of my opinions, but they are not appropriate to discuss here.

That one is a NAB-FIFCO beer, not an ABI one...
