It came out in a branded Goose Island snifter. I was pretty impressed. It was kinda strange to see it right next to Angry Orchard. I have a feeling it might be on tap there for awhile.

Half Day Brew Pub has Prop and BW on tap. Enjoying a pour of Prop right now and it's tasting better than the last time I had it.

Hoping this lasts until Saturday when I can make it out there. Never been there before.

I gotta agree with @bowzer4birdie. A couple weeks back, a place in my suburb tapped Prop on a Wednesday afternoon. I was all set to enjoy some with dinner that following Friday and it had kicked earlier that day. Go forth now!

Yeah, in this city it is now or never, it seems.

I agree that these usually kick quick in Chicago. But that same pub has had BW on tap for over a week. So chances aren't too bad.

BW and Prop are completely different animals, though. Especially when dealing with the tickers.

It's also $14 for a 10oz pour for either bw or prop. Sticker shock for a lot of folks in the burbs I suspect. I was there tonight around 6pm and it was still on but according to my server it was "running low" for what it's worth.

$14? Christ, why does this always seem to surprise me when it shouldn't by now :angry:

Check out the beer markets in the surrounding nw burbs tomorrow night. Some nice BA stuff kicking off at 7pm at multiple locations. Saw it on untappd.

What about the one across the street from Half-Acre Brewing basically?

No idea. I just check "nearby events" and saw the Lincolnshire and Schaumburg beer markets had "the big bad beer" event. Not sure if the all do or just those.

Edit: did you mean half day brewing? I read half acre and assumed something downtown. If you meant half day then yes 7pm tomorrow, lots of good stuff. No Prop but bw, reg, high westified, tweak, wws, etc.

Whoops,... Yes, Half Day Brewing was what I meant to type. Sorry about that. Apparently I've typed Half Acre so many times that muscle memory just took over.

While I agree $14 is a little steep, given that those bottles were ~$22 MSRP ($1.30/oz), technically that's almost exactly in line with bottle pricing per ounce.

Again, not saying I think it's a good deal, just saying it's not that much worse.

Agreed. Why I didn't mind paying for the pour or Prop but easily passed on the BW.

I hear ya, makes sense. I think I was just struck with the initial "sticker shock" when I saw the $14 per pour. :grinning:

I mean, I would be too. But in reality it's not terrible.

On the other hand, I'm definitely more likely to spend $22 on a bottle I can drink on my own time, than a $14 glass that I have to drink asap (because it'll kick soon).
