Let's not get too jealous. The bar that had it was selling it by the ounce. I won't embarrass myself by disclosing what I paid...

Gummy Vortex gets released today. I hope it is as good as Funny Gummy, they set their bar pretty high.

I am not so caught up on Noon Whistle releases. I don't work too far from Lombard, is the line significant or is it an in and out situation?

Should be in and out. Only crowlers and growlers though.

In and out situation. But, they're hitting home runs with their gummy beers.

What are the limits on crowlers? 2?

I would imagine this would be on tap to try first, no?

When they did their first NE IPA it was available to go with no limits on crowlers. Maybe they will keep it the same.

Yes, they have 4 oz samplers for like $3 or $4.

I work 10 minutes from Noon Whistle and this is the first I'm hearing of them since moving to the area this summer! Totally heading over during lunch. Getting a good heads up like this is why I love this thread!

Made it doen for Gummy Vortex. Just going to say, for me, Noon Whistle hands down are leading the way for Chicagoland NE IPAs. Came out of nowhere and honestly keep nailing it.

How is it in comparison to funny gummy?

I prefer it over funny gummy. Its mych more simple, and the citra stands out more.

Made it out to NW and picked up crowlers of Funny Gummy and Gummy Vortex. I only had 5 oz pours of each, which were my first, so I'll save any in depth opinion until I can spend more time with each. For comparison sake though:

    Gummy Vortex: Simcoe/Citra
    Funny Gummy: Galaxy/Citra/Mosaic/Amarillo

Didn't seem to be a limit on crowlers as long as it was reasonable. Saw someone get 4 of Vortex.

I just popped in and tried Gummy Vortex, was super impressed. Lacing and smoothness reminded me of Trillium brews from back where I come from, and it's juicy AF. Had Funny Gummy too, but thought Vortex blew it out of the water. And that was me grabbing four crowlers...

    Cheers.

My initial reaction favored Funny Gummy because I picked up the Mosiac immediately and that's where I lean. Like I said though, I'm looking forward to trying them both at home.

I was the guy that came back in because I thought she gave me an extra Gummy Vortex, which I still do. Not matter how hard I apply my Chicago beer math, I come up with an extra crowler every time. But she assured me that she charged me for it.

Did NW comment on how much of the Gummy Vortex there is? When I went in for Funny Gummy they said they made a ton and it would last a while, which it obviously has because its still available today.

[can't wait to jump off the Metra tonight, yell at my kids, tell my babysitter I have to run out for a bit, call my wife and make something up as to why i'll be out when she gets home, and head over to NW]

Their IG post this morning implied there was plenty of Vortex but no more specificity beyond that. Said Funny Gummy may not last the weekend.

I got a full pour, and two crowlers of Gummy Vortex - it's awesome. I'm a huge citra fan and I picked up on it right away. If you were a fan of Funny Gummy, definitely make your way down here and get some Vortex!
