New to Ohio (2017)

GLBC needs to bring back Glockenspiel in bottles. Cleveland needs a locally made weizenbock in bottles (for no other reason than I love the style). Or Fat Head's can just bottle Alpenglow.

 

Alpenglow is fantastic! Wish they had that in bottles.

 

I hope GLBC is paying attention . . . Kinda hard to believe that they're not but something has gotta change and so far it hasn't. They went from brewing all things well to severely being hit and miss. Can't find consistency in the newer stuff let alone the classic styles they used to do so well. I know I'm pointing out whet we already know. It's just so frustrating that I once loved this brewery.

 

That would make me so happy! One of my favorites.

 

speaking of bringing back GLBC brew's, here a vote that Doppelrock returns

 

honestly, GLBC should give up on chasing trendy styles like DIPAs and barrel-aged beers and whatnot and focus on traditional European styles. They could carve out a nice little niche among the beer snobs since few Ohio breweries bottling and distributing things like weizenbocks and such.

JuJu is awesome this year, as expected. For those two can make it to the taproom, make sure to try Hop Marauder. Based on color and specs, perhaps JuJu with a different dry hop? Far more dank! Had it at the brewpub weeks ago and thought it was OK, but the one at the taproom is significantly better (assume it's the same batch, but maybe time did it well? From the difference maybe a diff batch...).

Side by side with JuJu it's real close. JuJu far more citrus, of course.

 

I had it at the taproom too and it was fantastic! I agree with your take. It reminded me a lot of Ju Ju only way more dank/weedy with tons of resin and not as fruity. Don't skip over it if you have the chance.

 

Yep, so far better than other states I've seen them in. Either it's taxes or the distributors other places.

 

Crooked Stave has hit northeast Ohio. Just picked up Blueberry Orgins, Sereneta Notturna, and Motif!

Has anyone seen Palate Wrecker around or know when it will be showing up in Ohio? According to the link below, it's being re-released this month. An oldie but goodie.

 

Hop Marauder was absolutely fantastic. Had it at MadTree on Saturday.

 

This might be a long shot, but does anyone know when Citra/Galaxy High might be released again? I have a craving for the Citra one and don't know much about Madtree's release schedule.
