Kane Brewing (February 2017)

My comment is as all of ours are, personal preference. I work in JC a couple days a week and get HH on draft easily there and really enjoy it. I got a 4pack of Party Wave via trade, and it just wasn't for me. It was on the sweeter side IMO, and not necessarily NE Style as I would have thought based on reviews (again ymmv). Was it good? Yes. Great? IMO no. As a double, I would put it far down the list if you compared it to some of the doubles from OH, Interboro, Single Cut, and LIC.

Head High on the other hand as a single lines up very favorably in an apples to apples comparison to the noted local breweries. I'd take Head High over a large majority of the single IPAs from the other guys.

 

Party Wave is a single IPA, Wind Swell is the DIPA they released around the same time, which to my palate is not close to as good.

 

Oops, my bad. Sort of retract that then, but I still think HH is better at least for my palate. PW tasted much heavier which is why I must have blocked out the fact it was in fact a single.

 

party wave at 7.2%, IIRC, was dangerously drinkable and went down easier than a head high for me, very crushable... love both, but preferred the party wave a bit more... have not had wind swell.

 

Anyone have any thoughts on the Aslin collab? Prob next sat if its an IPA, correct?

 

I would say def by next weekend. Today is exactly 2 weeks. Most IPAs take 17-21 days from kettle to can. Though Other Half has been know to release theirs a bit earlier.

 

Hope to get to try the Aslin Kane collab, and my friends up north can hook me...

 

It was brewed at Kane? Was under the impression it was at Aslin for some reason.

 

I was literally just thinking this morning that it was time for Vengeful Heart. Love that beer!

 

Yeah, Wind Swell was a let down for me. Party Wave, Third Reef, and Sneakbox are the current Kane vanguards for me...

 

My Spidey senses were tingling this morning. I had a feeling they would have a bottle release today but not vengeful heart. Actually thinking Morning Bell but it looks like Mexican took its place in the near future.

 

I thought Vengeful Heart because Valentines Day.

 

Ohh wow didn't even realize that. Last year was the same time. I'm an idiot

 

i doubt they skip out on morning bell... there is also a trend that can be followed for those who want to sleuth things out

 

Just cracked open my Vengeful Heart bottle from last year. So good.

 

Not to be THAT guy to start this convo, but....

Kane was out at Modern Times Carnival of Caffination this week pouring Coffee ANTEAD. Now, there was no coffee ANTEAD last year.

Do you guys think theyd bring 2014 beer to a coffee centric festival where the coffee may have fallen off, or is this possibly a new batch of ANTEAD? If new and they feel its ready enough to pour at an event, could this possibly mean that ANTEAD may be dropping relatively soon?

 

OMG you're totally on to something here. Or maybe not.

FYI the taproom was fairly empty. Still had bottles of vengeful heart and cans of head high and overhead
