So wrist bands have to be sent out soon right? Took them several weeks to get them all mailed out last time.

 

They always seem to release the full tap list late. Don't worry, there will be a lot more CCB stuff added soon tho not sure it will be worth the wait if like last year. Last year was a total cluster in the CCB tent. You stood in line for quite a while for whatever they might have at the line you picked....stood there 20 minutes in line and ended up with a Jai Alai...they refused to give you beer from another line.....you had no idea what was being poured at the front of the line. Hopefully they have signage at the front of the line so you know what you are actually in line for.

 

Guess it depended on who was serving, because I did not have that problem, I was able to get whatever I asked for from whatever line I was in, except when they had the special tappings. In the case of the ABV Zhukov, I was in the right line at the right time when it tapped, so I was very lucky.

I drank a ton of CCB last year. It was my groups first and last stops of the day (with 2 other visits in between). Never waited anything close to 20 minutes. Even at the end of the day when every other place was out of beer, it was only about 7 minutes and they still had great beers on

 

Accurate.

Although I'll agree with the original exaggerator on one front, they should have the beer lists closer to the line entrances.

 

You gotta love people who weren't there telling you what you experienced. You could have a bright future in leading religious cults.

 

I don't think that's the intent of Bartos post. Just stating a different experience. My experience with CCB was the same as Bartos. And I felt like almost all of the CCB lines had at least one BA beer worth ordering on tap for a while. Wait time was minimal and generally allowed people to order anything in the general vicinity. The only time I had trouble at the CCB line, was late in the day around and during the special tappings, like other people stated. And part of this was due to the numerous breweries being done early and forcing bigger crowds towards the CCB trailer.

 

damn, how many places did you visit last year?

 

I live here..... a lot. I went to events from Friday the week before huna day to the Sunday after huna day.

 

I hate to give this tip away but if you liked that Proof sour last year (fwiw I loved it and drank a ton of it) you'll have to swing my MIA Brewing and get Encanto de Amor. That beer is amazing and super crushable

If you look back at my reply, you'll notice I never said anything about your experienced. Never said you were wrong or questioned the validity of your statement.

I was just offering a counter perspective based on my own experience. You said it was a cluster, you had to wait 20 minutes and end up with a Jai Alai. I was just sharing that I had a different experience because a number of people in this thread are new to Hunahpu Day and there has already been concern expressed overy CCB's tap list for this year.

I didn't comment on the only getting pours from the line you were in because there has already been ample discussion about this having been inconsistent last year. Some lines let you get anything (which slowed things down and upset people that had waited in a long line for a specific pour) and some people experienced what you experienced...only being able to get the beers for that specific tap station.

I'm just saying...as CCB Huna Day clusterfucks go...last year's didn't even rate for me. For me, the only real gripe was how so many places ran out of beer 2 hours before the end of the event. I'm fine with missing out of whales because they kick early but I was bummed to miss out on whole breweries.

 

Any word or speculation on when tickets/wristbands will be mailed? I'm a bit concerned

 

Ain't nothing more gross than the remnants of the HoJo bottle share. Me and a couple folks tried to clean up after everyone, but it was just too much.

 

Speculation says next week they'll likely start being mailed. Tickets are still on sale so I'm assuming they haven't started mailing them.

 

Hoof Hearted's Fitness Freak is totally worth seeking out to compare with some of the other whales at the fest. It only recently came out on draft, with hardly any buzz, and totally blew my expectations away, for a brewery primarily known for their IPAs.
