I liked it quite a bit. to me the caffeine is undetectable. also super drinkable and smooth for the abv

on a sidenote, I finally broke open one of my Something Or Others. Wow. This is amazing. Might be one of my all time favorite HPB beers

Had it Sunday and enjoyed it, but found the grapefruit/citrus a little heavy-handed. Weird bite at the end felt like the caffeine talking. Anyway:

    OMG OMG OMG OMG

public sale will be Friday 2/17/17

    BEER DETAILS:

Cold Box Cool Ship - Wholly Smokes we are excited for this beer! Cold Box Cool Ship is 100% spontaneously fermented in Highland Park. A very simple base recipe of barley, unmalted wheat, and aged German Hallertau hops allow the microflora to really stand out. We let the beer cool down in the open air overnight, getting inoculated with wild yeast and bacteria. We then let it ferment and age in neutral oak barrels for around a year. This all develops into something that is completely unique to our neighborhood. The beer has lean, pronounced grapefruit acidity with a delicate, raw mustiness as a nice counterbalance. Hope you enjoy! 5.1% abv.

    850 bottle release.

Having had it... yeah, this one is amazing.

there's definitely an interesting flora that develops among the unwashed fat neckbeards and unwashed hipsters.

I've never had this one but look forward to trying. Are there any other LA breweries who have done open fermentation? It's a cool idea

Not quite the same thing but I'm into fermenting my own hot sauces. I like to think that they are imparted with specific Silver Lake wild yeast. Imparting flavors of unemployed 20-year-old men wearing monocles, Navajo prints, and girls wearing man-repellent jumpsuit style parachute pants

I know monkish has posted about it. I feel like beachwood blendery has dabbled in it, or will?

Blendery's original goal was to experiment with and create beers made using the techniques of lambic so spontaneous fermentation is their primary focus.

Monkish has done this with their Jolly Pumpkin collaboration Cucurbitophobia and I believe this year's Chaos is a Friend of Mine from Beachwood Blendery will be their first 100% coolship beer.
